I agree and I agree, I can't believe that was more than one shot - it looked like one long shot. Amazing.

I wanted to see Haywire but it seemed like it was only in theaters for a couple weeks.

Yeah, it had a slow story with a payoff that you end up scratching your head. It's like none of the characters care about what's going on. With haywire, it has a straightforward story but has amazing action with that same noir atmosphere from TTSS.

Alright guys, I'm having trouble..I rewrote a scene in MATHION, and for lack of a better description it's the first "romantic" scene I've ever written. Now, I personally love it but I just want to gauge your thoughts. Bear in mind that this is just a scene, and it doesn't really spoil anything major about the plot. I'll put it in spoilers for those who don't want to read it, but for those that do any thoughts?

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
The rim of the sky to the west was alight with the orange fire of the setting sun, but the fire was crowned with the purplish onset of night. Mathion was in his chambers packing when the door opened, silently to a man but Mathion’s Wolven ears heard it, and Elekan picked up his head. Mathion looked, and saw Telé’a, his betrothed. A flowing silk gown of blue trimmed with gold thread hung gracefully from her shoulders, just outlining the curvature of her body before settling at her feet with the grace of mist. The gown reflected her own eyes, a soft blue flecked with bits of gold which Mathion said to be the clearest windows into a person’s soul as he had ever seen. With her fair skin and fiery red hair, she appeared as an ethereal spirit of ancient legend, beautiful to behold in both face and countenance. Mathion welcomed this happy interruption, and Telé’a smiled. He took her into his arms, embracing her with the intention of never letting go. Many men had desired the hand of Lord Acarios’s daughter for centuries, but she was bound to Mathion, as he was to her.
Elekan, understanding of this personal moment between the two, got himself up from his mat and made his way out of the open door, but not before Telé’a herself stopped the White Wolf and stroked his snowy white fur with small yet elegant hands. Mathion felt Elekan’s spirit grow warm, and the wolf nudged Telé’a back to Mathion and took his leave.
“He seems to know things, doesn’t he?” said Telé’a with a soft smile. Her voice was soft and breathy, but her strong will was enough that men hung on her every word, including Mathion.
“Elekan knows more than he lets on, I assure you,” Mathion replied. He momentarily returned to his packing, organizing several small sacks of herbs and roots with which he could make healing tonics and other concoctions. He then clasped the bag shut and set it beside his bed, just as a small kettle began to whistle noisily. He walked to the hearth in the middle of the room. Mathion took the kettle and poured two cups of tea into small wooden cups and handed one to Telé’a. He blew on hers and sipped his carefully, and they said nothing for a long while. When he sat down, Telé’a sat in Mathion’s lap and ran her fingers through his dark hair, staring deep into his eyes.
“You’re worried,” she said finally. And she was right in saying so.
“I have much to be worried about,” Mathion replied.
“And your worry burdens your heart like no other man’s in all of Ánovén,” she said, “I can see it in your eyes.” She leaned forward and kissed Mathion’s forehead, and he welcomed the warm feel of his beloved’s lips upon his skin. He smiled and then brought her lips to his. Nothing needed to be said in that moment and Mathion’s worry evaporated like fog in the sun.
They finished their tea and now lay in Mathion’s bed, Telé’a’s head on his chest and his hand securely on her waist, simply enjoying the pleasure of being with the ones they loved.
“Oharion arrived today,” said Telé’a, breaking the silence. “Did you really want him to join you?”
“Of course,” said Mathion without hesitation, “Oharion is a capable warrior and a trusted friend.”
“And my little brother, don’t forget,” Telé’a added.
Mathion smiled again, “Now who’s worrying too much?” and Telé’a replied with a jab to Mathion’s stomach with her elbow. They laughed, but then she turned over and stared that stare Mathion had seen so many times before.
“I’m serious, Mathion,” she said, “I fear for him after what happened, it’s… changed him.”
“Great tragedies can do that to a man,” said Mathion, “and some scars are slower to heal than others. And even then they never wholly fade.”
“I know,” Telé’a whispered. “But all the same, promise me you’ll look out for him? Protect him?” Mathion sat up and took her hands in his, locking his eyes with hers. He brushed a fiery lock away from her eyes, and nothing but conviction and love for this woman was in his voice as he spoke.
“With my life if I have to, Telé’a.” And though she smiled a small glistening tear fell from her eye. In the light of the moon it shimmered with the essence of silver.
“I hate it when you say that,” she said quietly, “I’m always afraid you’ll take it literally.” Mathion brought her lips to his and smiled as he caressed her cheek.
“Must you always be so afraid?” They laid back down and she fell into his arms as the stars above the world danced with the moon, and events set themselves in motion that, after tomorrow, could not be undone.
*
The next morning Mathion was awoken by sunlight and a knock at the door.
“We’re waiting for you in the courtyard,” he heard Kéle’il say as the door opened and he entered. “Dov—” he stopped as he saw both Mathion and Telé’a still in bed, Mathion staring at him with a cocked eyebrow. Kéle’il stood there awkwardly for a moment.
“I’ll be down shortly,” said Mathion, rubbing his eyes.
“Of… course,” Kéle’il replied, barely hiding a smirk, “Take… all the time you need.” Mathion shook his head as Kéle’il slowly and dramatically backed out of the room, closing the door just as quietly and theatrically. Just before the click, Kéle’il poked his head in again.
“Are you sure you don’t want me to tie a red ribbon to the door handle so—?”
“Oh get out!” Mathion laughed, throwing a shoe at his friend. Kéle’il slammed the door shut and his laughter rang throughout the tower as he descended the stairs.
Telé’a rolled her eyes, “Does he have to go with you too?”
“He’ll be fine,” Mathion laughed, “I asked his cousin to join us. If anything, he’ll keep Kéle’il in line.”

Thanks in advance for your thoughts/critiques

That movie is only good for one thing... Gary Oldman.

And thankfully he got some recognition for it.

That seems really good... I'd love to get it, but it all sounds really involved.

Can anyone just dive in and buy your book?

Yeah I loved it! But then again I've been interested in spy/espionage novels since I was about 10 so I was always going to like it. I can understand people's complaints that its a bit bland but I thought it had a captivating story, the cast was one of the best I've seen for years (topped only IMO by TDKR), the only major problem I had was I loved the reveal of the book so goddamn much and they completely removed that from the film.
Oh and Benedict Cumberbatch

So, The Avengers was frickin' great. Shamelessly entertaining, funny and with some of the best spectacular sci-fi action I've ever seen.

And though some of them has been good, I haven't been a huge fan of any of the solo MCU movies. The Avengers is better than all of them together.

But even though I loved it, the first thing I did coming home was to come on here to discuss TDKR trailer.

Says more of me and my love for Nolan's Batman than it does anything else though.

Yeah, it's the first book in a planned trilogy so everything's set up. But how do you mean "involved"?

I think compared to his 'generation' (for loss of a better word) of actors, Tom Hardy, Michael Fassbender etc he comes across as extraordinarily average.

No, I was just making sure what the book was exactly... and by ''involved'', I mean, it would appear that it's so rich with characters and mythology. I thought perhaps it was drawing from certain sources that would be good for the reader to have knowledge of...

It all looks really appealing to me...

Does it stand well enough on its own? The only MCU I've seen is Iron Man, though since I am a fantasy fan, I do want to get around to seeing Thor.

Ok I jotted down some thoughts that you may feel free to completely disregard. I did enjoy this even though it's not really the type of books I typically read, I thought it was pretty darn impressive. Anywho, I'll put it in spoiler tags just in case...

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
Well first off all of this is coming from someone who is completely unfamiliar with your particular writing style, the books you've written, the general style of this particular genre...so you certainly know way more about this than I do, I just write some short fiction in my spare time and grew up with an English teacher for a parent...Anway
- One thing you might want to look into is cutting back on some of the prep. phrases, they are certainly necessary to give good descriptions, but sometimes simpler can sound better (e.g.- The rim of the sky to the west was alight with the orange fire of the setting sun, but the fire was crowned with the purplish onset of night. (7 pp's) maybe...The western rim of the sky was alight with the orange fire of the setting sun, crowning the fire was the purplish onset of night.) Again, I'm not at all saying the edited one is better, just that sometimes sentences can get weighed down with too many pp's.
- Other than that there were just a few little things that read a tad odd (e.g.- “You’re worried,” she said finally. And she was right in saying so. Maybe... "You're worried," she correctly noted, finally breaking the silence.) Again, I know next to nothing about your writing style and I've only read this small excerpt, so take all of this with a mammoth grain of salt... just passing along some thoughts, a good read though.

I'm debating about 5 people at once, all with long post... It's exhausting.
