I confess that I'm a grammar Nazi. I judge the hell out of people who can't speak basic, proper English.

I'm actually really glad the TDKR marketing has ratcheted up a notch. It takes my brain off wedding planning, because I was afraid I was gonna burn out on that just when I needed to be in the thick of things.

Last time I checked, nothing wrong with being one. Last week I did application and got call for interview 2 days later. Been 3 days since I did interview, no call.

Try calling them. Let them know you really want to work there.

Also seems like I will never get hired on at fav local coffee place. I've heard through good sources they don't want to hire any guys there because pastor's teenage daughter works there. And I've only seen 4 guys work there, 3 of them being family and co-owner. I heard through my source they feel a guy working there would feel uncomfortable.
My thoughts: Welcome to the Bible Belt...

McDonald's has an interviewing process? I worked there in high school and I thought the interview process was filling out an application.

You can do better than McDonalds anyway. Stop selling yourself short.

A few years ago I worked at the county jail for 3 days and said **** this. I seriously can't describe a more depressing work setting. And top of that, all I heard from my coworkers was how ****** and horrible people all my other coworkers were.
I confess that I have now idea how I just now realized that would be a good idea to buy a thing of green chile and keep in my freezer. I should have thought of that long ago.

Right now, I'm not better than McDonald's. I'm honestly not. And yes, fast food has interviews. I had a five minute interview at the local fast food place on base back in spring 2007...got hired on the spot. Of course 6 weeks later a mass quit happened cuase the new store manager coming in knew the current manager was gonna be fired 2 weeks a head of time...and that guy wasn't good to me. I was only cook that SHOWED UP...that lunch..he treated me like crap for 3 weeks. 1 hour days last two days I worked...never got a break...was working me non-stop for like 4, 5, 6 hours. I came in and quit and he was like . right before my shift, oh snap. Next month I started at Wal-mart...which was hell for half of my nearly two years there. And that manager was like 'Run over there and open the door for customers!' Um no, I'm a cook... ...I kid you not, my first 6 weeks there, everybody be smoking inside the building on base...like seriously, right outside the kitchen. Which was clearly a violation. But customers couldn't see that part. Customers could only see the cook stations, the other 60%+ of the back area was hidden from customer viewpoint. And in the kitchen we had death metal music playing lol.

I confess that even though I want to see The Avengers (it will be the first movie I've seen in theaters since the Dark Knight) and a friend of mine bought me a ticket to see it at midnight in Imax and 3D (since I don't have money), I kind of don't want to go. Usually we go see the movies with my brother and we go drive to some theater out of the city, this time I'm just going with my friend and his friend and we have to take the train to the city and I'll probably have to take the train back home by myself at 3 or 4am. I don't really know if I want to see it that badly but I feel bad saying I don't want to at the last minute.

I will probably be passing to see the Avengers in theater because the only theater in 50 miles is showing it in 3D only.

Yeah right now I'm trying to see if there's someone else that wants to go. If he can't find anyone, then I'll go, but I really don't want to, especially since I'm trying to finish a 20 page paper that I need to graduate and I have to have my professor look over it before I submit it to the honors program I'm in, and I don't trust him to do it quickly so I'd rather deal with that tonight. Plus, I don't even have money to get there, let alone buy snacks or anything, so this whole thing just feels like a big inconvenience.

I mean the subway heading into Manhattan. I've taken the train late before, but its something I really hate, especially since they run almost once and hour in the late hours and its not as safe, especially where I live. I imagine us getting out at 2:30am or 3am, and depending how soon the train comes, I won't be getting home until about 4am. We usually drive to New Roc City with my brother, but since he doesn't want to see the movie at midnight, my friend decided to get tickets at a theater downtown and that's really the biggest reason I don't want to go. Not to mention, I really want to have my last paper finished by tonight so I can not have to worry about missing out on graduation since I don't have time to work on it with my play running next week.

Confession:
-Most of the "friends" I made this past year deserted me. Worse, I will never see the three close ones again, and two of them are moving to the opposite end of the county for their careers (both in the arts), and the other one is moving back to Israel. -My dormitory room is allegedly the "most haunted" one on campus. I did not know this when I selected it during room draw, but apparently, several years back, the previous occupant died from autoerotic asphyxiation (and I knew which closet, right off the bat,) and haunted the following occupants. The only weird part of the room is that the floor dips (my refrigerator doors drags on it,) and it seems that no matter how much light is in the room, it is always choked with shadows. Where's the problem? Well, I always wanted to spend time in an environment such as this, and soak it up for a potential novel. But, I found out the truth of the room halfway through the year, and am having a devil of a time harnessing it. Worse, I have one week left, which means that if I am going to write this piece, I have seven days to do it before graduation. Worse...there's nothing weird about it. I don't believe in ghosts and goblins, but I was hoping to have some quirkiness to harness, but there's been nothing. It's been like any other room I have slept. Grr. -My romantic life has met the criteria of a black comedy. -In addition to penning a supernatural novel, I want to enter the film industry. The biggest obstacle I have is that I have no talent to work with. I love the area where I live, and plan to return to it once I have a decent paying job. However, there is no film talent here. At all. I managed to to lasso in the last of it for my adaptation of the King tale "One for the Road." So, it means moving in to Pittsburgh full-time, but the logistics of such a move are problematic. I might have to work a year and put back money to move - which is fine - but, the local employment is going to be a nightmare. - Last edited by jonathancrane; 05-04-2012 at 08:07 AM. |
