I like it better than Young Justice and it's time skips and twelve million characters.

Well every one has varied opinions on the show. And hell sre all the super kiddy stuff and most cutaway stuff is bad. I personally don't think its all ****. I have enjoyed some episodes. And in time it could change for hopefully the better. All they need to do is tone the the cutaway/4th wall stuff and that could make things more enjoyable.

This. Used to like that show but it just needs to make up it's mind about what show it want's to be. At least this show is clearly defined even if it is somewhat lacking in some aspects.

Young Justice has good drama and great animation but there are way too many characters. They jettisoned half of their core cast and introduced a bunch of new characters without much establishment. I don't really like that.
I like that in Ultimate Spider-Man you've got a smaller core cast and the show knows what it is. They are building a storyline going on with OsCorp, Doctor Octopus, and Norman Osborn which is intriguing. Harry kept the symbiote and is going to become Venom. I think I can easily pick up this show at any time.

No, it does not. It tries to have serious moments and have Peter be about responsibility....yet also has some really goofy, unfunny moments and has Peter be a reckless, unlikable idiot most of the time. It has a completely schizophrenic tone, and unlike Brave and the Bold or even Teen Titans, it does not do a good job balancing it out.

I don't know, I think it does a good job of visualizing Peter's sense of humor which people always complain about the movies not having enough of.

People complain about having too much as well
I'm not one to complain about humor being there

And even then, Peter's humor in this show is horribly lame. Very predictable, very cliche, and just painfully unfunny. Whatever Peter lacks in humor or charisma, he makes up in obnoxiousness and annoyance, only rivaled by their version of Nova. The other characters are just walking cliches with no nuance, rhyme, or reason, except for Luke, and even then, I would prefer a "black-guy cliche" to someone completely devoid of any personality.

it's gotten to the point now where every week I'm rooting for the bad guy to kick Spidey's ass and make him look like an even BIGGER jackass than what he makes HIMSELF look like...

Well today:s new episode was ok. Back to more 4th wall/cutaway stuff. Which we will have to live with for the show. I still hope we will see it toned down like we seen in a couple of episodes. Now for the plot of episode we have venom returning again in another host. It was an interesting angle having harry taken venom and trying to control it. To be a hero and try to prove to his father he is great. Some nice developments there. Also I felt they where tring to piggy off venom like a drug like in comics harry did become an addict for a time. So I thought the harry plot was good.. and it was nice peter was trying to protect harry and not out him to shield and fury. It was also a little funny with peter being sick and trying to do the hero stuff. Overall it was still an ok episode.

![]() Yeah, the animation isn't really as great as they were cracking it up to be. Loeb, a "showcase of what Marvel animation can do!!"; there has been some cool stuff but concurrently Young Justice schools this show in the animation department. The designs better and the animation is so much more fluid than most episodes of USM so far. The designs are pretty uninspired as a whole here.

Welp, time for my complaints about this nonsensical episode:
*As always, the humor is idiotic and childish. Nothing is every genuinely funny or witty. Spidey's cold serves SOLELY as the source for crude gross-out gags. That's pretty much it. It also makes Drake Bell's already-grating voice even more annoying, and that, along with the stupid gags, ruin any potential pathos in a story where Harry becomes one of Spidey's greatest foes. That premise made me remotely interested in this show, and thanks to the mishandling here, it made me lose attention again. *Speaking of that, I guessed early on that Harry would become Venom, and due to some early hints of motivation, it seemed like a storyline that would have potential. However, due to little to no buildup beyond that, his motivation is VERY blurry and inconsistent. Is he jealous of Spidey? Does he admire him? Is he trying to be a hero or does he just want his dad's attention? Or is he trying to kill his father later, and doesn't do anything with a defeated Spidey? Is he in control or is the symbiote doing all the work? It's all very schizophrenic and makes no sense. *The Venom symbiote serving as something that grants Spider-Man powers makes NO sense. The symbiote had only possessed Flash and Nova before the fight was taken outside, so it did not absorb Spidey at any time. Also, how did Harry control it in the watch? Is this ever explained? And when the symbiote is "destroyed", did it still remain alive? Or did Doc Ock put it in him? The way they handled that scene is unclear. *The characters are all obnoxious jerks. From Flash abandoning his Spidey fandom pretty fast, to Jonah shifting his support to Venom (again, WHY?!) to Harry's nonsensical motivation, Peter being cocky and unhelpful, and of course, the one-dimensional teammates that stupidly dismiss Peter pointing out how similar the black-suited Spidey is to Venom and antagonize him all the time, even when it's not his fault. I rooted for no one in this episode. Overall, I'm tuning out until the Green Goblin episode, which is near the end of the season. Knowing this crew, though, they'll grab an awful idea like Ultimate Goblin and make it even worse.

Some ideas for an alternate Spider-Man cartoon came to mind, at least to an origin

One full season, which appears to be what was ordered; officially SSM lasted two half-sized seasons. So that's 19 more episodes before I feel the urge to murder.

USM actually is going to have another 26-episode season after this one, making the episode count an even 52 episodes, making it just as long as Avengers: EMH and X-Men Evolution.

Spider-Man didn't seem stupid in this episode, and he caused far less damage than he usually does
The symbiote wrist container = Spider-Man Unlimited wrist costume container I did see some lag in animation at certain clips BTW, I still don't care for Eddie Brock, so no problem in Harry being Venom
