TFcon 2012 exclusive toy will be SHAFTER

When his teammates need something special built, they call SHAFTER. After a stunning defeat and exile from the Savage Land, SHAFTER was determined to redeem himself. Called on by STRONGHOLD to completely redesign all fortifications after the breakout of TOXIN and his companions, SHAFTER is hard at work making sure every possible hole is plugged tight. His small size allows him to access many areas others can’t, but belies a strength that allows him to accomplish even the hardest jobs. SHAFTER’s mastery of civil engineering allows him to construct a solution from the ground up, drawing inspiration from the monuments of his home world and the wonders he’s found on Earth. SHAFTER’s abilities at design aren’t just limited to blueprints, either, and his cunning strategies have turned defeat into victory numerous times. Even with all his defensive skills, SHAFTER is no stranger to the front lines. SHAFTER is durable enough for the most toughest jobsite, and can shrug off enemy fire while “giving as good as he gets” with his powerful hydraulic arms or his induction rivet-guns. SHAFTER intends to make sure that the next enemy spy looking for trouble finds a lot more than they bargain for, and to prove once and for all that great things can come from small packages.

TFcon preregistration is now live

Preregistration will open May 1st at 9am and run until July 15th at 11:55pm.

TFcon 2012 admission includes the following:
-Entrance to Canada’s Largest Dealer Room for Transformers merchandise
-All access pass to all TFcon panels and events
-Free autographs from all TFcon 2012 guests
-Entrance into the hourly door prizes

2012 sees the return of the TFcon art and customs contest. Entries may be submitted from 9 am until 12 pm the Saturday of the convention. After 12 pm all art pieces will be judged by the TFcon Art Judges. The winner will be announced at a time on the event schedule.

This year there will be 3 categories for the art contest attendees are welcome to enter, 2D, 3D, and costume. All entries are to be PG-13. Pieces previously entered cannot be entered again. No collaborative entries, the piece has to be 100% your own creation. Limit of two entries per person. For more details check out the TFcon website.

TFcon has released the first pictures of Shafter!

We are pleased to reveal the first images of the TFcon 2012 exclusive SHAFTER figure. Limited to only 500 pieces it is produced by iGear Toys. You can reserve your figure and register for TFcon 2012 via the online registration page.

TFcon is happy to announce the addition of Silas Zee to the TFcon 2012 guest list. Making his first Canadian convention appearance, he is known in the fandom for his My Little Transformer videos and his artwork under the screen name of shibamura_prime. Silas has also lent his unique style to the box art of the TFcon 2012 exclusive Shafter. He will be selling prints and offering commissions to attendees all weekend long.

TFcon announced today that the Bumblebee Camaro and Barricade cars will be at TFcon 2012

Amazing replicas of the Transformers Movie 1977 Bumblebee Camaro and Barricade cars will be in attendance at TFcon 2012 for photo opportunities with all attendees.

For those of you that will be in attendance on the Sunday watch for a special appearance by another pop culture vehicle as well.

TFcon Welcomes Collectible Toy Expo to 2012 Programming

TFcon’s expansion to a 2 day convention was originally made possible through merging with the Canadian 80s Toy Expo on the Sunday of the event. This was necessary due to many dealers completely selling out of merchandise on the Saturday requiring a dealer room restock if a 2nd day was to be added.

This year is no different with the Sunday bringing us one of Canada’s largest dealer rooms for 80s toy related merchandise consisting of dealers selling Super Heroes (Marvel, DC etc), Star Wars (new and vintage), Transformers (vintage and Japanese imports), G.I. Joe (vintage and modern), Masters of the Universe (vintage and classics), Wrestling, and tons of other Action Figures and collectibles.

Transformers Voice Director Wally Burr to attend TFcon 2012

Our final guest announcement has been revealed: Wally Burr the man that cast Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime, Frank Welker as Megatron as well as Neil Ross in his roles; directed 98 episodes of Transformers Generation 1 and the 1986 Animated Movie will join us this weekend at TFcon. He will join Neil Ross on stage for the G1 Q&A panel and will be judging the live script reading.
