I love Lois Lane, just not as Superman's crush. I would rather the return of Lana Lang.

But why? I mean, even if I weren't a fan of the Clark/Superman and Lois relationship; I'd still ask myself..why would anyone prefer Lana over Lois to be his Leading Lady?

1. There was a point in the comics where Lana was pretty crazy; she names her kid after Clark despite being married to Pete Ross, and continually stalks Superman and Lois...making her intention known that she wants Clark.

2. Clark, in the comics, before Birthright never returned her feelings fully that way.

Plus, unless she got a major revision...what could she offer to the story? Lois is a reporter who's known for her passion in getting the truth and exposing the corrupt, so that in itself is an interesting arc for Lois alone, not to mention that her father is a military general....and she's also the one that names Clark Superman to the public and is known to be the one that defends him when people talk crap about him.

And if "Smallville" the tv series was of any indication, Lana is not a healthy for Clark.lol

Lois Lane is as essential to Superman as his costume and ability to fly.

Indeed; in fact Lois Lane is as old as Superman is when it comes to comic mythology since she was the only one there with the character at the very beginning; everyone else slowly developed into the mythology at latter points.

While I'll admit that I haven't been the biggest fan of all of her interpretations and arcs in the comic book history that I'm aware of, she is without a doubt one of my favorite female characters in the comic books.

And before anyone goes on about saying that I'm bias..I don't think of Lois as a perfect person.....in fact, it's her being not perfect and accepting that..that ended up being one of the reasons why Superman was drawn to her in the first place.

Amy is going to be a great Lois I think even though I wouldn't have thought of her as Lois personally.

OMG no. Smallville's Lana made me retroactively hate every Lana that came before her.

I never liked Lois Lane, ever, in anything. I've only ever liked Lana Lang's character. And I stopped watching Smallville when Lana Lang was absent.

Lois isn't a crush, they're in love.

Superman without Lois Lane is like Robin Hood without Marian or Tarzan without Jane.

Superman III was better than Superman IV in my opinion, and Lois was a non-factor in Superman III.

Superman III being better than Superman IV is everyone's opinion, surely.

You, my friend, are the 10th man. If 9 out of 10 people like or hate something, you must be the outlying 10th. That's ok. March to whatever drum beat you like, but Lana was absolutely thought of as the worst part of that show by most people. No offense to Kristen Kruek. It was just that her character was written poorly. She whined about everything and really put a drag on every episode she was in.

Even in the comics she was never used as anything but a foil because everyone knows Superman belongs with Lois.

Kristin Kreuk was one of the more popular actresses on television during Smallville's peak years (which she was partly responsible for, as a lot of the story was focused on Clark's fixation with her character - Lana). Over it's ten seasons, Smallville averaged approximately 4.34 million viewers per episode, peaking in season 2 with the highest ratings: 6.3 million. It's a shame Erica Durance (Lois) couldn't fill her shoes. I can't think of anyone more whiny than the Lois character. She pushed me away from the show (in addition to the silly green arrow character).

I find it hard to believe that Lana was the reason for the show's early success.

Apart from the Elaine character on Seinfeld, I can't recall a more endearing character on television than Lana on Smallville. I wish I could have those years back when Smallville was new. Kristin Kreuk was extremely popular, and much talked about among the male population. I seriously doubt I would have watched the show at all if she didn't hook me in.

Elaine and Lana are both detestable, horrible and unlikeable characters.

That's sort of the point of Seinfeld. But Elaine is sill adorable.

I get the feeling that JackReacher is being purposefully ridiculous. Maybe I'm wrong, but his statements are just a little hyperbolic.

I've read things like this on other Smallville sites. Lana (and Kreuk by extension) is a saint while Lois (and Durance by extension) is evil incarnate. It's tiresome at best.

For some reason some present it as fact that Lana was the reason for high ratings, never mind other characters like Chloe & Lex had their own intense followings.

But back on topic, I'm hoping the trailer in the theater will have a little more Adams as Lois. I'd like to hear her voice in character.

However, I'm betting we're going to have to wait until December to get a real look at her.

I'm think I'm more excited to see the MoS trailer at TDKR than I am the actual movie!

Smallville Lana was fine when the show started ( and she's hot, too ).

But, as the show went on, she became more ****** and annoying and unlikable.

but, I chalk that up to the fact that the show dragged on way too long and started deviating from its original premise.

hopefully young Lana in MOS is more likeable than Smallville Lana.

as for Amy as Lois.....I think by the time of the next convention, we should start seeing more of her.
