Watching all the characters together finally was something pretty special.

Shoot. ![]() Hopefully we'll get a nice poster in between then and now. A Catwoman poster would be great.

I'd say it embraces it's genre more than anything else. Transcends? From an action perspective perhaps but as a whole? Eh, that's a stretch.

If you believe that, you weren't paying attention.

That scene where the team argues under Loki's influence rivals some of the tenser scenes in TDK.

Not that I don't like what Avengers is doing. It's just not the first time a bunch of movies shared the same universe.

I loved The Avengers, but it wasn't because I thought it was transcendental in handling characters, quite far from any of the reasons I thought it was great for.

Eh, I wouldn't go that far, it's a good scene but there's nowhere near the same drama or tension, thing is when the film isn't played as seriously those scenes tends not to have the same impact. Same with the villain, Loki doesn't feel that threatening in the film which is highlighted at the end when he's made the but of a gag.

I know I'm fighting a losing battle here. You guys would rather big up a movie you haven't seen than admit a separate movie is good.

Ya you never know, it could be soon but its hard to tell. But things are starting to take off, that amazing trailer I could watch all day, so it will keep me occupied for at least a week lol. Though I am interested in what Total Film has in store, I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it sounds like maybe they have something big.

![]() The implications of a shared universe are a lot greater in the superhero genre. And really, anything is better without Kevin Smith's ego involved.

All they did was release a cover of their upcoming issue which is dedicated to TDKR but other than that it's nothing huge unfortunately. http://www.totalfilm.com/news/get-a-...e-ipad-edition

I am really really surprised we don't have a poster yet, I'd have expected it to be all over cinemas by now for the Avengers. Probably this weekend then.

At this point I am convinced the forum dwellers (not the GA) who think Nolan's Batman aren't comic book films have never picked up a modern Batman comic. Or a modern comic in general. Because even most Marvel books are gritty, serious, and "angsty". I think their definition of a what a comic book constitutes is what pop culture told them: colorful, thoughtless affairs. Because there are no other explanations. I mean, how can anyone complain about the color when it so forcefully recalls No Man's Land

More like I'm defending the tone of the movie/franchise since it's appropriate for the Batman comic books that inspired it. Attacking that is pretty damn lame if you ask me. I still have no clue why Harry even felt a need to mention it in his review. As far as whether the movie will turn out to be good, who knows. I've said over and over it could turn out like SM3.

The conversation started because some guy said that Avengers was just a simple action movie but TDKR will change everything.

I do not only admit The Avengers is good, I think it's great. But as far as that scene being anywhere near as tense as something from TDK I just can't agree with. Just personal preference.
