New X-Men was my first exposure and I hated it when he was on and was glad when he left. In hindsight though and through rereadings I realized how good he was (especially in comparison to Kordy's sloppy pencils during that time). It was enough that when I read Batman & Robin with his pencils I loved it. I wish he'd be able to stick through a whole run of a series though without needing fill-in artists.

I don't think I've ever read anything else drawn by him other than New X-Men and Batman & Robin (and Batman 700).

You should read The Authority. It's awesome. The first volume anyway.

Maybe some day. I keep hearing good things about All-Star Superman. I figure I'll check that out eventually too. Superman by himself though typically bores me. I like him in a team or event setting. Same with Wonder Woman and Flash.

It was good until after Revolution, IMO.

The series with Captain Atom was a great read as well.

Has Dr. Strange ever encountered Mysterio?

He banged his mom in the bathroom of studio 54 back when he was a doctor.

So,... Marvel has Recently reestablished Captain Marvels Powerlevels and Powerset in Secret Avengers to get a Handle on what Ms Marvel (Soon to be Captain Marvel) can do on the low end?

WHY?

He takes down most of the SA and survives hammertime from Thor,... If they start Ms Marvel at that level she's gonna be a real heavy hitter if you add her Binary abilities,...

I've been rereading the Loeb/Sale color books over the past week or so, and remember how much I love them. There was that Captain America: White issue 0 that came out, but does anybody know why they never finished it? Seems like Cap's recent movie success would've finally pushed it out.

With how awful Loeb is now, I'm glad it never happened.

Carol doesn't have any nega-bands in the new series, as far as I've seen, so she should still pretty much just have her energy abilities. Those placed her pretty high in strength, but short of the real heavy-hitters like She-Hulk, the Hulk, et al. I could be wrong, though.

But yeah, Mar-Vell's been kind of ridiculous in Secret Avengers. I admittedly haven't had a lot of exposure to his older stuff, but I thought he was more of a mid-range powerhouse, not able to easily trounce the likes of Thor. Of course, the Kree apparently harnessed some of the Phoenix's power to resurrect him, so maybe that's amplifying his powers.

It was supposed to have come out right around the time when he went downhill, so I still had some faith in it. And the 0 issue wasn't awful, if I remember.

I use the color books to introduce other people to comics a lot, usually girls. So I was hoping we could get one that wasn't such a "chick flick". Cap's seemed to do be a good chance at that.

Loeb is okay I think...but hay I like Bendis?

What's happened to Young Avengers (two years behind on the British CEs)? Are Stature and Vision still dead?

Corp?
I thought there were a few sets of Nega-bands out there, You would think Marvel (The Kree) would give a pair to Ms Marvel?

Hmph,.. answered my own Question,.. Gotta love Google:

HistoryThe Nega Bands were created by the Supremor of the Kree. They are based on the Quantum Bands. The bands use the energies of the Negative Zone and the wielder's own psionic energies.

The bands grant the users the following Abilities:

Increased Physical Strength Interstellar Flight The ability to absorb & manipulate various types of energy Increased invulnerability to physical attacks The Vacuum of Space No need for food, water, air or sleep.

There are only 4 known sets of Nega-Bands. They first pair were awarded to Mar-Vell of the Kree by the Supreme Intelligence. His offspring Genis and Phyla-Vell also wielded a set. A forth set was acquired by the Skrulls and give to Khn'nr who was to insert himself into the superhero population as a time lost Captain Marvel. The location of these nega bands after his death has not been revealed.

Noh-Varr's Nega-Bands
A new set of Nega-Bands, different in power and appearance, were created specifically and give to Noh-Varr of the Kree to protect Earth.

Yeah, Carol doesn't have a pair. She kind of doesn't need them. Don't her energy powers allow her to absorb energy and channel it into super-strength anyway? That's kind of the main thing the nega-bands did.

Why does becoming the new Captain Marvel require Ms. Marvel to get a butch haircut?

Apparently she has a ponytail in the comic's interior art. I don't know why Ed McGuinness decided to make her look like a butch hipster on the covers.

Because he's an idiot?

Okay so what's Mr. Sinister up to these days? Is he even still around? I'm so behind on X-events that don't involve battling the Avengers.

He turned into a woman, last I heard of him. But I'm admittedly not too up-to-date on most X-Men stuff.

I haven't actually cared about the X-Men since Cyclops went crazy. I'm glad Beast jumped ship over to the Avengers. He's basically the only X-Man I actually give a s*** about anyway, now that Nightcrawler's dead.

Cyclops going crazy annoys me, it feels like another indicator that nobody at Marvel actually likes him or cares about him and that they pretty much get off on vilifying him so Wolverine can look good or better in some way.

So Colossus has hair again?

Not as far as I've seen. Bald as a newborn babe. Except for the newborns who come out with hair.

The Hulk's bald now, too.
