Spidey's earned his stripes to be a full fledged accepted Avenger. I don't understand why people have a problem with him on the team. The real crime is how long it took for it to happen. That said, I like him best separate and on a street level team like the New Avengers.

Don't you know? The movies and the non-comic readers dictate what Marvel does. Marvel honestly believes in synchronizing their comics with the films so that maybe the viewers will give the comics a chance. Try to bring in a new audience.

Of course, they don't. Of course, only the long-term fans bother with the books. Of course those movie-goers enjoy the films, then continue to not read the books...the books that change just to satisfy the non-existent "new fans".

Pisses me off. Stop catering to non-readers!! They don't come, they don't stay, they don't increase sales. Reason why I gotta wade through this New DC s**t...

Well, lets break it down.

Hawkeye started out with Black Widow, had a thing for Scarlett Witch but, who didn't back then....I mean, even her brother did. He married Mocking Bird. Banged Moonstone. Now he's balling Spider-Woman.

IM banged Black Widow too. (But when you get down to it, who hasn't?) As Tony Stark he dated Wasp after she and Hank got divorced. Don't think he and Ms. Marvel got together. He did help her through her alcoholism. Don't think it went far beyond that. Then you got Pepper who now is a hero. Madame Mask who granted is a super villain but I think it should count.

Wolvie, well, there was some chick in Weapon X. Storm, Jean....kinda, Squirrl Girl, and probably a bunch more.

Yeah, Wolvierne.

But Marvel's biggest cape chasers are Black Widow and She-Hulk.

That's exponentially more impressive for Logan, though, given that he looks how he looks and Tony looks how Tony looks. I don't think "hirsute, grumpy, and shorter than I am" are too high on most women's list of traits they want in a man.

Marvel doesn't seem to care about anybody that's a non powered human anymore. Every supporting character has been given powers of some sort. The roles of guys like Jarvis and Wong have been diminished and even Bendis mainstays like Maria Hill and Victoria Hand have faded into the background.

Sharon Carter is the only prominent one I can think of right now. Dum Dum Dugan actually appeared in the recent Cap issue and it looks like he'll play a key role in the new Scourge arc. Both he and Diamondback got a Law and Order thing going.
