I've been touring the galleries here, the past few days, and...so impressed with the art.
Perhaps unfortunately, not too impressed to resist sharing some of my own! These are all old, old beyond belief, but they're a good sample of the sort of thing I used to do in the day (back when the movies were new) and that by times it kills me not to be doing now. I'm in the process of goading myself back into it...old school tools for now, need to see about current ones later. First a lizard spaceman loosely inspired by Barry Longyear (Enemy Mine) with his absurd little banner waving merrily in vaccuum. ![]() Was a major SW fan, through the end of the first trilogy, and still like this first illo I did for a long-forgotten SW fanstory... ![]() Han and Chewie playing chess (and someday I may learn how to clean this one digitally!) ![]() And then there was this concept piece for a Raiders fanstory that never got written:

Thank you!
*inspired* Throwing in another old but much loved sketch from back when Wookiees first walked the Earth, and one of my big ambitions was to get Leia's hair out of those damn buns. ![]() Next thing posted, whatever it is, will be new! |

These are great plushbug! How old are these sketches? Do you have anymore?

Thank you! These range from...the Han and Chewie piece is the oldest, from back around '79 or '80 (and yeah, I still love that one, too) the other SW stuff is from mid-'80s, the fanstory illustration project was fall of '85, and both the Raiders piece and the Longyear lizard are from around '89-90. Like I said, seriously old!
I do have more, about 50/50 SW (about half from the fanstory commission) and other odds 'n' sods, mostly one-off small pencil sketches, subjects ranging from Red Sonja to Blackhawk to Harrison Ford, which will be making their way onto my deviantart page as I make time to scan them. I see I've qualified for a sig, now, so I'll add a link to it once they're up. In the meantime, newest thing I've got around at the moment--quick and dirty, but it's a fair sample of where I'm at, at this stage--is the design I did for my 2011 Halloween pumpkin based on Doug Braithwaite's Surtur from Journey Into Mystery.

Got "the rest" of my old stuff up online this evening...starting with this portrait of my #1 favourite (the original) chick in chainmail!
![]() I still enjoy my '70s Sonja comics where I first fell in love with John Buscema's artwork...Was also a fan of the '80s Evanier / Spiegel Blackhawk...one of the few revivals of that oft-rebooted title, that actually worked.
