From HeroComplex.LATimes.com
" ‘Dead’ heads: Zack Snyder, Robert Kirkman lead L.A. zombie summit. Snyder and Kirkman will take the stage together on May 18 at the 2012 Hero Complex Film Festival to discuss, celebrate and debate zombies and a horror subgenre that seems to possess an undying appeal. The pair also will share their Hollywood survival tales and share tidbits about their upcoming projects — including Snyder’s “Man of Steel,” which arrives in theaters next year with a new vision of Superman that includes a reworked origin tale and a sharp break from the hero’s previous screen appearances. I honestly hope that it’s not the same old shtick that we’ve gotten on how it’s different from his previous films, the film resembling TDK in some ways, etc. With still a year until the film’s eventual release, I honestly don’t think that we’ll get any substantial info in regards to the story until the second half of the year at the earliest.

Very nice! Hopefully we get some goodies. Hopefully some news on the teaser and some info regarding Zod would suit me just fine

I love me some Zack Snyder slow-motion, he really knows how to make it look cool. But yes, I thought too that he overused it some in Watchmen and the impact didn't always hold up. I'm sure he'll draw his slow-to-fast thing in MoS too, it's more fitting for Superman than anything he's done before so.
'Anyway that description – fake or not – sounds awesome! |

I have no problem with the slow motion scenes, it is probably more justified in use for superman than his other films. I don't think the general audience cares either, I think this is one of those things that message board posters create as a so called problem when it isn't.
If it looks good I say why not use it. |

Well, I'm officially turned off for this movie now. I had my reservations about Snyder, and the description, if true, only validates my concerns.

The whole slo-mo thing is just a turn off for me. I turned off watchmen because of it.

That's a really minor thing to write off a whole movie for. Fair enough though.

I feel like Snyder has been all style and no substance. The only movie of his I've enjoyed is Dawn of the Dead, which is quite different from anything he's done since.

I think it depends on what is going on in the scene for the slo-mo to be needed. There are parts of movies that literally move by so fast that you have no clue what happened, and to me that's more frustrating than to actually be able to see what's going on. I mean yeah you see the end result of said fast action scene, but it's kind of nice every once in a while to actually see the action, the emotions on the face, etc... As long as it's not overused, then I have no problem with it. Now if it seems to be every other frame then yeah it can deter from the overall experience, but won't completely ruin the movie for me. I swear, some people just need to lighten up because it's really not that serious.

We've all gotten word of this before.
http://furiousfanboys.com/2012/02/ma...-knight-rises/ What makes this any more true?

that description of those scenes put a smile on my face, i am super excited to see this teaser.
i feel like every superhero movie ive seen had a few slow motion scenes in it. Even SR had slow motion scenes in it. I dont see the big deal, i happen to enjoy it and for a movie like Superman i think it fits in very well, your talking about two characters who move extremely fast. Its either you make it all a blur or you slow it down every once inawhile or you make duh action where its just one punch, fly into a wall, one punch fly into another building. for those complaining about slomo will prolly hate the crap out of the flash movie whenever that comes out, there is no way that won't have slo-mo in it. Should be worrying about the script, acting, sets not whether it has slow motion in it, such a weird reason to hate on the film. |

With Snyder it is more of a stylistic choice though, he doesn't always use it to make things easier to follow but because he want it to look nice and cool.
And for me personally I think he is a master at making it look damn nice and cool, but thought he used it a little bit too often in Watchmen. The impact of the effect didn't always hold up. |

There are some directors excessive and bland use of slow-motion that irritate me way more. John Woo I'm looking at you!!
And slow-motion is used in several different ways and for different reasons in movies, to say one shouldn't be able to be irritated or disliking some use of it seems weird. It's not always used just to make fast things visible. |

I like what I'm reading of the scene descriptions... what's most exciting is the described cinematographic look of MOS... akin to Thor (like the Asgard-set scenes) or Iron Man (more realistic tone).
Good, nothing like the gritty look of BB or TDK anywhere. |

Or Snyder's other movies, for that matter. And I agree, that's encouraging.

Not a big fan of the look of the Thor movie. Looked too clean and cartoonish. I *highly* doubt Snyder would make a movie that looks that way -- he never has.

I liked that description a lot. I hope it's true because I like how the fellow described the scenes that he saw.
WETA never disappoints so I'm expecting something quite breathtaking.
