was this "council" in the comics? It seemed kinda silly for fury to answer to a council, where is the president and senate in all of this? I mean hes got a God working with him for christ sakes.

I remember him thinking of howard as a womanizer too but could rely on him for tech and support although they hinted at a love triangle with him maggie and cap.

There is no explicit council in the comics, but it's not really silly at all. Being director of SHIELD doesn't make Fury the highest man on the mountain...he'll always have government higher-ups who will question his calls and vice versa. SHIELD is a secret gov't organization....I'm sure the council are the same.

Didn't Jackson allow Marvel Comics to continue to use his likeness in the Ultimate Marvel universe in exchange for the role if there was ever a Nick Fury on film again or is that a rumor?

the Council are Fury's bosses. whether or not Fury would allow someone who wasn't loyal to him on the helicarrier is moot. When your boss's bosses order you to do something you do it and those particular pilots did.

Those aren't lower level guys who killed Jazz, Prime, and Iron Hide. Also, Devastator is no foot soldier. I don't even know why you're trying to argue with me about it. Star Scream helped Megs, but both are main antagonists. Sentinel Prime killed Iron Hide and he's a main antagonist. Megs killed Jazz and he's a main antagonist.

Decepticon foot soldiers didn't put up any more of a fight than the Chitauri did.

HAHA, that was awkward too watching in 08. Nah Im just saying maybe it was the animation or them being cheapened as robots from phantom menace shutting down and that they came off as target practice for the heroes. I just didnt care for them in the least.

I will admit I lost this argument but I looked at the aliens in this movie and has the same reaction as I would watching a 4 year old knock down towers of legos in the living room with ease.

The Chitauri threat was in their numbers for the most part. Would it have been good to see a little more fighting variety out of them? Sure, I can agree with that. Alas I've yet to see a film where these kinds of goons actually give the main protagonists a run for their money ..... the fight in NYC was more about letting the group shine together.

Did the aliens even fight hand to hand? I really cant remember cause some of the shots went so quick. All they did from what I saw was walk slowly and shoot. I really wouldnt have minded if there was a scene where atleast hawkeye and black widow along with cap were captured or really ganged up on or punched in the face a couple times and show they were vulnerable and then have hulk or thor come in and clean house.

The Chitauri alien insects could have put up a little more resistance in the film to make it seem as if the stakes were higher. What we got was wave after wave of useless, incompetent baffoons who were crushed with ease and the heroes weren't breaking a sweat. Like Loki said, "humans were made to be ruled". Well then, what about the Chitauri, Loki? Just useless cannon fodder - an excuse for Thor to use his lightning or for Hulk to smash. Style over substance.

There was clearly an explanation, Hulk was being manipulated by Loki on the hellicarrier that's why.

Not to mention Banner and Stark explicitly have a conversation about accepting The Hulk. Banner finally does (I'm always angry...), he can control it.

Yes, but prior to the scene where he was manipulated, the audience never got the idea that Banner could control the Hulk in any event. Every scene we've seen of Hulk shows him to be this uncontrollable monster. Whether it be from this film, or the other Hulk films. No precedent for Banner controlling Hulk, completely, so for him to just control Hulk like that was just ... weird, and compounded the issue further.

Completely false and uninformed statement. In The Incredible Hulk, it's heavily implied at the end of the movie that Banner has finally mastered controlling the Hulk. That's why it ended the way it did.

Ah I take it you haven't seen the end of The Incredible Hulk where Banner is smiling as his eyes glow.
