I've had three toshiba laptops since 2004, all of them still work.

There's nothing wrong with Toshibas, but there is something wrong with the one you got ETM.

You should be able to return it because the box was already open and it clearly doesn't work.

I've read mixed reviews on Toshiba's. Seems to be 50/50 they work or not. Read quite a few posts on boards with this same problem. It's asking for Office Manager password. Which I don't have.

I don't think I can get my money back now. Looking at the laptop box...and thinking back...I don't remember a protective seal on the box. Probably was it was slightly opened. It says OSHIBA RY SEALED IS BROKEN CONTENTS ACCEPTING. Walmart, may have sold me a returned laptop.

Bad Walmart. Knew I should have gotten the Compaq.

I'll take it to repair shop...ask them if they can fix it...rather not deal with hassle of going back into LieMart. Nothing but lies and tears.

Yeah, never buy anything electronic from Wal-mart. Their protection program is a scam.

I bought one for my mp3 player, and the inside screen cracked. I called them up, they said they would repair it. They sent it back with a note saying that the damage done to it isn't covered by the protection plan. Good thing I found a new Oled screen for it for only $40, I just need to buy the special screw driver for it.

Seriously, try taking it back. I took back a tv that I shouldn't have bought and just said "it wasn't what I was looking for", and they refunded me the money.

Or tell them the real problem. That the seal was already broken and someone had already used the computer. If they laugh it off, then you can tell them you'll call corporate for selling returned merchandise that does work right.
