So Japan has a huge porn industry, and people have sex all the time, but they don't want children?

Since when does porn equate birth rates? If that were the case Germany wouldn't have negative population growth.

Japan has a very tight immigration policy ( ie : no "new blood" )
Birth rate in Japan is very low, women don't want children and focus on their career. Why do you think Japan invest so much in robotics ?

Yeah I don't think porn decreases birth rates.
and predicting birth rates 1,000 years from now is just stupid. It's hard to believe this is an actual scientific study.

I have a feeling human beings will go extinct before 3011. Think about it.
The exponential increase in our consumption, our population, our damage to the planet, each other, etc... That's all happened relatively quickly in the grand scheme of Earth's timeline. There's no way in hell human beings will exist in the year 3000. And if we did, think about how insanely different everything would be. The English language (and language in general, in every country) would be drastically different. If we time traveled forward to "3011 America" right now and listened to people speak, it would sound like a foreign language... it would be a language that doesn't even exist right now. Clothing, food, medicine, transportation, entertainment. Video games have only been around for 35 years, and look how fast we've advanced that industry. Look at movies. Look at cell phones. Now instead of jumping 35 years from the past to now... Jump 1,000 years forward. I'm telling you, you'd find wastelands. The entire earth would be Chernobyl. Chernobyl's an understatement. There wouldn't even be buildings. There would be some other concept for housing and business, and industry.

Exactly. In 1011 there was no United States. So much can change in a century. In a millennia? No one can know. We could kill ourselves, an asteroid could kill us all, the robots could rise up, or we could just move to another planet.
Only an idiot would assume that trends will continue unchanged for a thousand years. |

The entire planet could be uninhabitable in 10 years, and we wouldn't know right now. 50 years is even more up in the air. 100? 250? 500? Pure speculation and borderline science fiction.
1,000 years from now? I mean, literally anything could happen. We don't even have a margin of possibilities to reference. It's not even a robot uprising... it could be a bird uprising, or an ant uprising. A mutated virus, or a new strain of swine flu that pigs carry could cause Rise of the Planet of the Pigs.
