It's completely different if you're freelance and are able to come up with a character that Marvel wants to buy off you... or something similar to that.

not to mention, you alone didn't make that character great... you have hundreds of other writers over the years, and artists... many often doing a far better job than the original run.

sure, it sucks that you invent a character that becomes a multi-million dollar franchise.. but it's what you were hired to do, and you did not do it alone. Though, i do think the companies should treat these creators well... with possibly a percentage (though small one) similar to how actors on tv are paid every time there show airs in syndication.

That's what I'm saying tho. There are creators out there that have this NEED to see there fave character or story in print, but, if you don't make sure that you READ the contracts, anything you sign under freelance could end up THEM owning your stuff.
That's WHY Marvel created Epic comics and Magazine, to have new artists show their stuff like Heavy Metal does.

That's the double edged sword to getting something you created into the lexicon. The company you have to deal with usually ends up owning the rights to whatever you made.

Not if those creations you have are copy righted legally OR if you have them in a certified SEALED envolpe mailed to yourself with witness signning then no, the company has no right to them without your acknowledgement.

Shame that Hulk doesn't have the chance to have his own adventure, perhaps against the Leader. It would give him a chance to shine on his own with Ruffalo in the role outside of the Avengers.

I read this on a foreign site, but not on the big sites like Comingsoon, superherohype or others.

heh My son was as excited as I was about the Winter soldier announcement and even more so with the rest of the news. I just hope Avengers 2 can keep up with the rest.

They just need to make sure RDJ stays on until for at least The Avengers 3 & maybe make some cameos in the other solos ? 3 Solos & then 3 The Avengers is good enough for the current main guys I would think. But if they want to do more then I say go for it

I'm sure he will. RDJ LOVES the part of Tony Stark and he has said he's thankful to Marvel and the fans for boosting his career

Of course he loves the part. Very little acting required for him. That's not a diss. That's a pat on the back to the people who casted him

Indeed; and if anything..I wouldn't mind if they did an adaption of the "Planet Hulk" storyline..it'd be new territory for the character on the big screen..with the twist (imho) being that rather than the likes of Tony and Steve having been the ones to orchestrate Hulk being there..the leader could have made Hulk think that it was the Avengers who betrayed the Hulk and sent him there, with the mystery being solved by the end of the film when the Hulk returns..since it wouldnt' make sense from this point to have the avengers suddenly turn on the hulk or have the hulk go bad after how hard the avengers film established him as a hero.

Yay! A John Carter movie with the Hulk in it! The audience will love it! o_O

People didn't go see John Carter because people didn't know what the hell John Carter was even about. There where a lot of people that didn't even know the movie even existed until news stations started reporting on its losses even after they spent all that money on that Superbowl ad..... that terrible terrible Superbowl ad.

Comparing a Planet Hulk movie to John Carter is like comparing apples to pine apples.

A Planet Hulk movie would be a disaster for the character, IMO. Hulk is only just beginning to gain traction with the GA after a character redefining appearance in The Avengers. That progress could be undone very quickly with this story. If you want to throw Hulk back into the ambiguous mode he was in before TA, or even turn him into an outright villain, Planet Hulk would be the perfect way to do that. Hardcore fans might love it but the general audience would probably be repulsed.

I'd wait to do Planet Hulk until after Avengers 2. That way, Hulk can be set up as the unpredictable outcast if A2 is his last appearance with the squad.
