It's the reuse of a concept as opposed to a remake unless it actually is a western, but I think Figs is right, it will be updated to present day.

If that's the case I take it back. But I hope the results are better than the last movie that tried to tweak the formula (*cough*Ironclad*cough*).

I don't like it, but hey, if they want to do it, might as well make it into The Expendables set in a Western.

I think Michael Fassbender should play the McQueen part.

No, but seriously, Figs has the right idea. Team up some A-listers with some character actors. Cruise could attract a master director who is capable of doing an ensemble western.

Also Nicolas Cage. He needs to do a film with Tom Cruise.
Because some of them cannot act that good?

I would be very very happy if they got Johnny Depp and Brad Pitt in this too.

I'd like to see Robert Downey Jr. in the Lee Role. I'm also hoping it's still a western.

I will see this. Considering how many sequels there were to the M7 (and a TV show to boot) this is hardly inviolable territory here. I can see Cruise in either the Chris or Vin role.

Not sure what they will do with the Chico role, whether split it into the original separate characters (the kid and the antihero) or keep them within the same character. If they separate them, then RDJ would make a good "antihero Chico" and an unknown newbie can be "kid Chico."

Pink Ranger: Why should an unknown play Kid Chico? Because there aren't any well-known young male stars?

Isnt there a movie about a reimagining of the Magnificent Seven/Seven Samurai with mercenaries in Thailand or some Asian country?

I swear Ive read a thread about it.

Okay here's my seven for no other reason than it would be cool to see them all together: Tom Cruise, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Liam Neeson, Javier Bardem, Aaron Eckhart, Thomas Jane and Idris Elba.

Most of the time their stilted, cheesy, wooden, in-joke or whatever delivery makes for more iconic cinema than normal actor playing it straight.

I was joking when I said that, but I understand they like to be known as iconic actors playing iconic badass characters in action movies.

You. Wolfwood's cast is awesome, inspite of it's lack of Cage.

I like the Joseph Gordon Levitt pick especially. I can't remember the character's name in the Magnificent Seven but JGL would be great as the young cocky kid from that film.

Cage in this film would be glorious.

My seven would be Tom Cruise, Nic Cage, Ryan Gosling, Robert Downey Jr, Josh Brolin, Idris Elba and Liam Neeson. Incase Cruise drops out his replacement for me would be Tommy Lee Jones.

That would be the greatest cast ever.

Except... Cage should play all the other roles.

Yeah, I think Cage should try his hand at villain roles one of these days. It's been too long.
