The biggest WTF at the moment is how the Skyfall lodge actually fits in with everything going on with M and Silva.

In regards to that, I've had the idea whatever operation or deal M cooked up years ago took place at Skyfall manor, hence they named the operation after it. In the present day Bond and M are one the run and Silva traces them to their hiding spot, bringing it back to where it all essentially began.

But isn't the SF lodge supposed to be Bond's ancestral home or something? Or was that just a rumor?

Yes it is. The character played by Finney will have something to do with it as well, I think.

I think Finney's character (a foreign office official) will have something to do with Skyfall lodge, giving it to Bond's family or something. M could've known him too. As Vesper alluded to in CR - "which means that you were at that school by the grace of someone else's charity".

Also another thing I noticed from old set pics was that they had a specially marked tombstone for Monique Delacroix Bond. I wonder if they'll use the Soviet spy angle from the Deaver novel..

DB5 is destroyed, but Bond *may* shoot one of the choppers down with a missile gadget before it goes up.

That's different. They weren't trying to identify Stiles' character. They wanted to know if she was under duress. Secondly Bond is right there for every one to see so they obviously know it's him. I think the word association test is to identify his state of mind.

There is the drive to the manor, where M falls asleep in the passenger's seat. I think this is where they make a stop on the road, where Bond talks about his childhood over a drink of alcohol of some sort. There was talk of a car chase through the streets in the DB5, before they start their drive to the lodge. I think they pick the DB5 up while at Bond's flat.

That all sounds fantastic! Those Bond/M scenes should be amazing.

I keep reminding myself that Bardem is in the movie. Incredible. If he's a scorned man getting revenge on MI6 and M in particular, he could really sink his teeth into this. He has said he's more of a heavyweight villain, in comparison to Greene and Le Chiffre who were more cogs in the wheel.

So, the plot involves an attack against MI6, right? It is probably the first time the agency has been under attack, and just like that renegade 006 in Goldeneye I think it really ups the ante by making MI6 the target and thus exposed everyone involved with the organization.
