Is it terrible that I find this somewhat morbidly hilarious?

It's like that Russian politician who ran against Putin a few years ago who "somehow" accidentally got RADIATION mixed into his food that literally turned him green.

It's like, do they really expect anyone to not know what went down here?

On the other hand, I doubt people like Putin and Un care, because what's anybody gonna do about it anyway?

The only thing worse than a dictator who comes into power on their own is a dictator who inherits their power. The former at least had good intentions at some point.

Kim Il-Sung never had any good intentions. He was a power hungry **** who seized power, and turned the half the Korean peninsula into his personal slave state. If he had any good intentions they never materialized.

He was one of, if not the vilest person to ever walk on this Earth.

When he started out he had the backing up the Korean people in their opposition to the Japanese. I'm not saying he was a good person, but he started out trying to do something other than feed his own greed... whilst also feeding his own greed.

Um... I don't think that was the point terry was making.

Any death is a tragedy. These officials were apparently less hard line and more willing to negotiate with their Southern counterparts. Or they might have said something negative about the new 28 year old leader, Kim Jong Un. They'll do anything to preserve the status quo there.

As to Schlosser's point about how flimsy the cover-up is... They don't care if the international community knows. As long as the heavily brainwashed North Korean public buy it (or are scared enough to pretend they buy it), that's all that matters to them.

Diplomatically, kinda. The officials had expressed a willingness to compromise with SK officials and had shown admiration for their economic rise. We won't ever know the whole story though.
