Ahhh....hrm, okay then. Maybe the way he worded it confused my little brain, haha.

I've heard that it's the same kind of material. Although, Superman's new suit reminds me more of a suit Aquaman would wear while Spidey looks like just some type of material you see at clothing stores.

Spideys Reminds me of a luge suit

You clearly don't know how to distinguish an Indian accent from a Welsh accent. The character who said that in the trailer was Dr. Ratha.

The both look great. The new suit takes advantage of a slender body. The old suit took advantage of a bulkier build. Spiderman in the comics has always went back and forth, especially when other heroes were around. Honestly neither seems more spidery then the other. I'd say Raimi's seems more like a uniform while Webbs is more urban.

The new suit is definitely one that was made to look good on camera and designed for post.

Who the **** is Dr. Ratha?

And that invalidates my point how?

Anyway, I suspect many who say they prefer TASM suit now may change their minds after the newness wears off. It is just kind of an eye sore. It reminds me of the Ben Reilly costume, but less cool-looking. There's a reason the Ditko design has stuck for 50 years despite various alternatives being used at times (symbiote, The Scarlet Spider, Captain Universe, Ben Reilly's Spidey costume, Iron-Spidey, etc.).

I mean it works and doesn't really hurt the film, it just looks off.

Perhaps that, but with a more "basketball" type of texture. Not exactly, but I can tell how the comparisons can be made. I would say perhaps some kind of swim wear.

I'm still definitely iffy on the shoes and belt, but for the most part, the suit does resemble the classic looks. We still have the red in the right places and we still have the blue in the right places just with those additional leg stripes and the red arms stripes wrapping around his arms as well as the gloves looking different where there's a pouch shown on his palms that he presses to release the webbing.

I like the costume, at first it reminded me of the Ben Reilly costume.
The leg stripes are kind of a turn off, but they look fine in motion, so I don't mind that much.

I dont get one thing though...why are people so dead set on thinking that Dr. Ratha is talking to Spidey when he says "Do you really think what happened to you was an accident?"

I've been thinking that there are chances that he could possibly be talking to Connors. Maybe addressing that Oscorp (and Osborn) were helping Connors with his research because Norman eventually wants to create the formula for making a super-human. Since everything is connected to Oscorp, I have a feeling that Connors research is going to eventually lead to the Green Goblin.

Well it's probably because he says "Do you think what happened to you, PETER, was an accident?"

To me, I don't think that line is referring to him becoming Spider-Man. I think the line is taken completely out of context, and I think it's referring to the disappearance of Peter's parents.

I totally didn't remember if he said Peter. Since thats the case, I apologize for my stupidity there.

And as for what you said, that could very well be the case too.

It's definitely Ratha talking to Peter. The context of what he's talking about is a different matter altogether.

lol read my post properly again please. I wasn't questioning whether it is Ratha. I'm quite sure it is. I just wasn't sure if he was talking to Peter, which he is.

Forgive me for reopening the age-old debate, but here are my pros & cons of the 2 cinematic Spidey costume designs, with obligatory snapshots.

My personal preferences:

ASM costume:
Sleeker styling, not only in actor's build, but detailing of suit (including lack of front belt)
I like the reflective metallic eyeshields over the Raimi white (though i wish it were silver instead of gold)
Prefer thin black webbing and chest logo over the thicker silver webbing and silver logo
Like the modernized spider logo graphic design better
I like the fabric texture better

Raimi costume:
Like the web pattern on the mask rather than grid of ASM mask
Depending on the image, I might prefer the slightly more muted blue color, though it varies from scene to scene on which i prefer

For my taste, I prefer the look of the new suit, though the Raimi suit was beautiful. I'll know for sure when I see more footage.

I actually prefer the red and blue on the TASM costume.

The Red down the arms of the Raimi costume is WAY too thick. IMO, it should have been thinner. This is where the TASM costume wins out. The stripes down the legs IMO is still not a good choice.

I like how the red portion of his suit that leads into his gloves wraps around his arm sort-of, instead of just shooting straight down.

The red down the arms usually are pretty thick though, but yah, I agree with Troy...I like the red on the arms in the new suit with it wrapping around the arms. Although, I would have preferred that in that break where there's blue, that that would be there the webshooter is placed outside of the suit to give some meaning of the break from the red.

Oh I know it's never been 'thin', but it was never as thick as the Raimi version of the suit. It's was just too much IMO.

I never noticed how vibrant the colors really were until I saw those pictures were side-by-side. I love the colors on the Webb suit. A lot of the differences really accounted for Andrew's body type too, with the red areas being thinner in comparison to the Raimi suit. It's nice to see that some thought was put into the design. It looks like a sleek new car.

When they first released the look of the new suit, I didn't like it all, but now I prefer it. It's a nice sleek design for the body type of Andrew, and the changes have started to make more sense over time

I actually prefer Webb's version of the suit over Raimi's in live action, but the classic look is just perfect in the comics. I've seen a few animated images of the new suit, it just looks way too sleek and overly stylish when drawn.
