Eddie Guerrero vs Brock Lesnar, No Way Out 2004
VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:
One of the best matches I've ever seen and one of the more emotional ones. A little sad to watch nowadays since Eddie's no longer here, but a definite recommendation in watching. Plus you get to see Brock in his prime.

-I came across this article on mmajunkie with Dana talking about his recent meeting with Brock Lesnar. Here are some quotes: "The meeting did not go well," White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) following UFC on FX 3. "Probably the worst meeting we've ever had with Brock Lesnar, and I haven't talked to him since." White declined to elaborate on exactly what happened. "It's one of those things (where) it's not worth getting into it publicly," he said. "It's not worth getting into the B.S. over it." Here is a link to the article. -Christian is not advertised for any WWE TV tapings until the 7/23 1000th episode of RAW. He is still being advertised for Smackdown house shows though. Dixie Carter announced yesterday that Christian would be appearing at this weekend's Slammiversary -WWE.com have an article looking at the different sets used on RAW since it's inception, teasing that there may be debut a new set at the 1000th episode of Raw on 7/23 when the show expands permanently to three hours. -The 6/7 edition of Impact did a 0.98 rating with 1,252,000 viewers. That is up from last week's 0.89. -Thursday on the Between The Ropes show, Brian Fritz spoke with TNA star Kazarian as we talked about this Sunday’s Slammiversary PPV, being involved in the top storyline in the company, being in the wrestling business now for 14 years, the pressure he puts on himself and his matches, the future of TNA, cutting off his hair earlier this year and the reaction to it by some fans, if he was ever asked or pressured to cut his hair while with WWE and more. Here are some excerpts from the interview: On what is special about his current run in TNA including teaming with Christopher Daniels: I think right now, the company as a whole, you have a guy like Bobby Roode, who is one of us on top. When I say one of us, I mean a guy who is a TNA original along with guys like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe and myself who have helped build the company. And teaming up with a guy like Christopher Daniels who I've literally known for 14 years of my life so that leads to real good chemistry there and our wrestling styles compliment each other. So, it's real cool right now when you look at the whole scope of TNA and you see the guys who have busted their butts since day one here, to see guys like that on top and pull this company into the next level is pretty awesome. On being involved in the top storyline right now while involves his boss Dixie Carter: It's a unique situation. It's pretty cool for Chris Daniels and I to be a) tag-team champions and b) in this unique situation with Dixie Carter of all people. I don't think anyone say that coming. I think it's something very different and it's something I've gotten a lot of feedback on both positive and negative. On the reaction he got earlier this year from some fans when he cut his hair considering the talk was he refused to do that while with WWE: Well, if people still think that's the reason I left, they can think that. It isn't the reason I left. I knew that was coming. I absolutely knew that was coming. Wrestling fans don't forget anything: No you don't and at the end of the day, I had people going 'I can't believe, how dare you do that'. And I'm like 'listen fellas' , especially dudes, I can't believe how many dudes were twittering me. At the end of the day, it's just a haircut. It's something I wanted to do. I donated it to Locks of Love while was also something I wanted to do and just change the look up and keep it fresh. On whether or not he was ever asked or pressured into getting a haircut with WWE: It was something that was discussed but it was one of those things that wasn't a pivotal reason. I probably at the time wasn't mature enough to be there. I don't know what my expectations were but I probably wasn't ready on a maturity level to handle it there. And that's all on me. That's absolutely all on me. If I was there a few years later things might have been different. I had a lot of other stuff going on that opted me to want to say no, I don't think I like it here.

I agree, since WWE bought WCW, the only place for you to make a big impact on the industry is in WWE. You can cement a small nice legacy in TNA, but nothing major, at least not at the moment. I believe that if Roode went to WWE they would push him, but I do not believe it would be any better than what he's been doing in TNA. In TNA he is the "Guy" and the show is largely built around him. I have serious doubts he would be pushed as well in WWE, but you never know. Like you said, he has things that work in his favor in regards to his look and backstage attitude, unlike Punk and Bryan. My only fear is he will become just another WWE main eventer. What I mean by that is they'll book him to where he no longer stands out or is treated as second-rate compared to Cena. Punk is the perfect example of WWE taking a guy who was white hot and took the edge off of him as quickly as they could.

Makes sense as to why the WWE would want to go into Spain despite Spain's economic problems....they really haven't made much waves in Spain in recent years. Whenever they go to Europe it's always England, France, Germany, Italy (to a lesser degree). Spain's severe economic problems play a factor, but with four house shows this week in Spain, it shows that the WWE wants to get into Spain.
I'd actually like to see them do TV tapings in Germany or France. It would be interesting to see.

Hell, the WWE went to Russia for the first time I think back in May. They did very well there. I applaud the WWE for trying new markets. They usually do well in new markets. They've gone to Qatar, UAE, Turkey, China, Brazil, Russia and Spain, all relatively new markets for the WWE (I know that the WWE has been to Spain before, but never for multiple dates). With the exception of the Chris Jericho incident, I heard that the WWE did well in their first trip to Brazil. Africa seems to be the continent of least WWE penetration, but that's not the WWE's fault, because other than South Africa (and maybe, Ghana, Kenya and Morocco, although they have never been to any of them), there really isn't anywhere that the WWE can go to in Africa. Africa is the only continent where the WWE hasn't gone to multiple countries. While Europe may have economic issues, they do have stable democracies. They go to South Africa and do well there. That's where they will go if they decide to go tour Africa the next time. It'll basically be shows in Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg. And then the WWE leaves for Europe. There are only four countries in Africa I think can host WWE: Ghana, South Africa, Kenya and Morocco, although the WWE would have to get other West African nations involved in regards to Ghana and that could be a problem.

One of my favorite wrestlers of all time, Ultimo Dragon, has held the NWA International Junior Heavyweight Championship for almost 700 days. That is all.

There is concern within the WWE that Alberto Del Rio, who is still recovering from a groin tear and surgery, suffered a concussion last week. There has been discussion that he may need to be pulled from the No Way Out PPV, but it hasn’t been confirmed that he was officially pulled yet. Del Rio is scheduled to face Sheamus for the World title at the event. More as we get it.

They should make one of Triple H wrestling a broomstick. Just to test the theory, lol. After watching Smackdown I think a built up Kane could of been a better opponent for Sheamus. No Way Out seems like a doomed PPV and I'm not just talking about the buyrates. I also read R-Truth is injured. |

So, the WWE has acquired rights to the Mid-South/ UWF library, eh? I smell a Sting DVD that would cover his years in UWF, NWA, and WCW down the line.

Unfortunately Moppy was forced into early retirement by a woodchipper in a match for the Inanimate Championship.

The word making the rounds today is that a lot of the Raw stars are going to be booked for Smackdown tapings going forward as the company needs all hands on deck due to their thin talent roster. The fear among the wrestlers is that all the pushing to get them to work so often is going to lead to fatigue and injuries. Another major topic of conversation is how hard John Cena and CM Punk are working as they are also doing media and appearances on top of everything else asked of the roster. Here is a Kelly Kelly update. Once WWE heard the stories making the rounds that she was looking for projects outside of the company during her time off, there was a push to get her to sign a new deal as soon as possible. She is still under a current deal but WWE feels she's the most marketable Diva currently on the roster and is willing to spend to lock her into a longer term deal. What's interesting about the Kelly situation is that there's a feeling of burnout among much of the crew now that everyone is pretty much working every TV taping and with travel, losing 1-2 days they used to have to mentally and physically rest before going back on the road. There is a feeling among some that the Bellas, similar to Jeff Hardy years ago, might have started a trend with the women to get out and take breaks as opposed to continue on the grind. We'll see where Kelly ends up.

I'm curious about something and I want you all to answer honestly,What keeps bringing you back to wrestling and remaining a fan?For me..
One big reason is the wrestling action,Two jobbers could be wrestling each other and I'll just never get tired of seeing the basic action of a clothline/dropkick/suplex/etc,I like all types of wrestling styles But for me personally when I was a kid and even now high-flyers and technical wrestling makes me mark out cause I just f'n love it!!! Another reason are characters,A lot of people think soap-operas when thinking of wrestling But I think live-action comic book type of shows,I love me any comic book and so when a wrestler or tv character comes out..I don't think about their personal lives But their kfabe characters!!! Wrestling action&characters that resemble comic-book types are a winning combination to me! |

The fact that it happened to another one of my favorite wrestlers of all time in TAKA Michinoku was a ****ing tragedy. His ringwork now is even better, as it's a whole different psychology, right down to his personality.

I look at wrestling as I look at cinema, there are feuds (Jericho/HBK 2008) that are like great films that show not just incredible storytelling but incredible matchs. Then there are feuds like (Cena/Khali 2007) that make me feel like I'm watching the movie Battleship. There are times I'm proud to call myself a fan and unfortunately there have been more over the years that have made me embarrassed. It's a passion for me that no matter how bad it'll get there's always something within it that I'll find to love about it. No matter how bad it gets I'll find something to make the me feel like a kid again.

Another thing to factor in is that Roode is a heel and the top heel slot is still wide open for the taking in WWE, which means he could get a role that saw him stand out as the main antagonist chased by Cena, Punk and Sheamus.
