Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation (Vita)

A NeoGAF user has posted details from the issue of Game Informer which has a preview of the Vita title Assassin’s Creed 3: Liberation.

• It’s out same day as AC3 (October 30)
• Location is New Orleans
• Female assassin named Aveline of mixed heritage
• Looks like same time period as AC3
• Ubisoft Sofia is developing
• Takes place between 1765-1780 in the period between the end of the French and Indian war
• One of the bullet points is that it’s “true AC gameplay”
• Will not connect to Desmond
• Will have “multiplayer specifically tailored to the Vita experience”
• “The game has been released as a propaganda tool by Abstergo, who want players to experience a gray area of the Assassin/Templar conflict as an assassin rather than a Templar”
• Aveline’s mentor is an escaped slave named Agate,leader of the assassins in New Orleans
• Wildlife like alligators “wait on the banks of the swamp or hide beneath murky waters”
• Liberation will also take players “across the Gulf into Mexico”

The game was listed by retailer Zavvi earlier this week, and until Ubisoft or Game Informer confirms the details, just take this information for what it is – Ubisoft’s E3 press conference takes place on Monday so the wait won’t be long.

It sounds awesome, though it won't really be the Vita's 'killer app' if it's releasing the exsact same day as the real thing.

I think to sweeten the deal Ubisoft should offer something like if you buy AC3 for the PS3 you get The Vita version for free b/c i don't want to buy two seperate AC games that come out on the same day

Totally agree. Maybe a PSN-bound bundle, with some VERY compelling cross-play features.

More details:

• Aveline and Connor will meet in Liberation
• Use front and rear touch controls to pick pocket
• Someone else is using the Animus
• New weapons include a sugarcane machete, pistols, muskets, grenades

Looks fantastic. I lost interest in AC after the second one, but I am most certainly picking this up on day one. Hopefully it doesn't skimp on the cooler things AC has to offer, like the open world setting, weapon customization, etc.

I dont know about 3rd one but I like the second one . The story is in Italy. My husband didnt even like the game though. But I loved it. It is pretty easy to play it.

That guy wasn't very good LOL

But as a big AC fan, I would love to get this, but I don't think I would get a Vita just for it. Luckily my brother has one and is planning on getting it, so I might be able to play it there.

Man this is shaping out rather nicely. I am thinking about jumping on the PSN combo deal. You get ACIII, ACIII's Season Pass, and Liberation for $120. Saves you about $10. Plus that would net me the $20 PSN credit in November for spending $100 this month.

I was telling my brother about the deal earlier because he has a Vita and wants Liberation, and I have a PS3 and want ACIII and he said he would buy it for me since I can't afford it right now. But then I remembered we have different PSN accounts, and I would much rather have the actual disc of the game for my collection than just a download. But it really does sound like a great deal and hopefully they have something similar for retail.

If you change your mind about going digital, all you have to do is add your brothers PSN account to your PS3. Have him buy the package and you can download it to your PS3 via his account. You can play the game using your PSN ID after it downloads.
