Leaked Watch Dogs multiplayer video is full of hacks

All Games Beta has published a video purported to be a leaked first look at multiplayer in Watch Dogs, the upcoming current- and next-gen title from Ubisoft Montreal.

In the video, near-future devices are invaded for information by hackers that attempt to blend into the crowds of a bustling alternative-reality Chicago. Downloading the information appears to take some time, forcing hackers to evade victims before being discovered and summarily killed.

A recent peek behind the game's development curtain revealed multiplayer would feature an element of invasion; however, the supposed leaked video features no identifying language that reveals it to be a multiplayer mode (Gamertags/PSN IDs, for example).

Joystiq has contacted Ubisoft to confirm if this is indeed our first look at Watch Dogs multiplayer in action.

Ubisoft unveils $130 Watch Dogs limited edition

12

Ubisoft announced that it will release a special edition version of its stealth-action game Watch Dogs bundled with a collection of bonus goodies for aspiring planet hackers.

The package includes a nine-inch statue of starring character Aiden Pearce, along with a replica of Pearce's vigilante mask. Also included are a soundtrack CD, an 80-page hardcover art book, and a copy of Watch Dogs wrapped in an exclusive SteelBook case.

The Watch Dogs Limited Edition Pack will be priced at $129.99 when it launches on November 19 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms. While Watch Dogs is also scheduled for a Wii U release, Ubisoft did not announce a Limited Edition Pack for Nintendo's console.

Yea I only get special editions if they come with in game stuff, altho all that in game stuff gets released anyway. Now it just depends on the franchise. If I'm a big fan of the franchise, ill get a CE regardless.

Yeah, but I also have a feeling I'll love this series. Choices....

I hope this game is in the Assassin's Creed universe as rumors suggest, cause I love that series too and these two franchises seem perfect together.

I find it odd that they're dropping a $130 special edition for a new IP. I guess it shows they have faith that it'll be successful, but it seems weird to pull that out for an unproven franchise.

Yeah, I can see a special edition for $10-20 extra bucks, but I tend to think you'd want to save such a whopping package for something licensed or proven to succeed. Of course, I don't know how much it actually costs to manufacture this ****. It may not be much.

I'm sure this has to do with what ubisoft told people like IGN about having most of it's ips from now on becoming franchise's.

Oh this has been out for a bit. As a lead in to the console game.

Im assuming everyone scrolled over your link, so im going to repost that video you did as there are some SERIOUS issues with it.

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Um, WTF is that? That game looks horrible. Is that from the Wii U build? That is NOT the game they have been showing off. Look at those HORRIBLE animations at the beginning.

Edit

It seems that video was a mistake

I thought maybe they were doing a PS2 version when I saw that video first.

And I don't even mean that as a joke.

I saw that video on another website and yes, it was absolutely terrible graphic wise. I'm not even a person who particularly cares most of the time, but that was REALLY bad. I'm glad to hear it was a rough version, because.... Ugh.

Glad this game is still on track to look pretty and what seems to be great gameplay. Gonna ruuuuuuule.

To be honest... if they had to cut the graphics that bad so that they could fit the story and side missions... I'd still play it.

Taking a hit on graphics for story is not something I'd mind at all.

Sony just made things interesting for me.

My brother and I are planning on getting the PS4, and I keep hearing that Watch Dogs is the game to get for next gen systems. It'd be cool to play it on current gen systems...but better on next gen.

So, apparently if you get Watch Dogs (as well as ACIV and COD) on PS3, we'll get it at a "significant" discount on the PS4. If they'd give us an actual number, I think I'd be down.
