Over at Ain't it Cool News they're reporting a rumor about what Fox is cooking up for the X-men.

One of my little birds Weapon X recently dropped me some information that 20th Century Fox had recently registered the title DAYS OF FUTURE PAST with the MPAA Title Registration

This really depends on how they are using the FC characters that they just established. Either way IM stoked over the idea. With the poll I guess either Kitty or Wolverine sent back would be cool.Gonna go with Kitty.

But man if they finally have Sentinles and Wolverine is nowhere in this film Im gonna be pissed. Been waiting to see him and Magneto tear the **** out Sentinels for awhile.

If they're doing Days of Future Past maybe this is the thing that could mess up the timeline so the original X-Men trilogy doesn't happen in this timeline.

Also this is just me but I hope if they do DOFP Wolverine joins the team.

This will likely be like Star Trek(2009) like everything In past originally happened.In post Star Trek Nemesis time travel caused changes to history.Thus fans can see Star Trek(2009) as next chapter In Star Trek saga.

With X-Men First Class can remain prequel to X-Men and X2.next year's The Wolverine
can also be seen before X-Men and X2.The sequel can be seen after these films with time travel and change as next chapter In X-Men films.They can keep some things Inline from earlier films but be able to make breaks.

If they are wanting to create the comic book line-up, or close to it, then Angel and Iceman would be sent back in time and would be the same age as Havok, Banshee and Beast. The future versions of Cyclops and Jean (presumably pre-Phoenix!) would be too old alongside the others.

I really don't know what they have in mind. But I feel pretty sure it would involve the JFK assassination - and possibly Cable as the time traveller.

But again, that's the beauty of DOFP . If they do it, and it's done right; it will work as a sequel to First Class and as an X4.

Hmm... interesting. A lot of time-bending posibilities here.


- What if original team-members came back and stayed in the prequel timeline? Could keep the retro style and bring in favourite characters with continuity in tact...

- It could do a Star Trek and just throw out the rules completely.

- It could maintain continuity, give a glimpse of the future faces but tie everything back up, ready to segway into Singer's X-Men.


The prospect of seeing the original cast again excites me, but the fear of First Class edging the originals further into obscurity urks me equally. I hope it doesn't go Star Trek, but at the same time at least then I could stop caring about continuity errors.

A dual sequel is my preference. I hope this happens.

To Involve the first Class characters something has to happen which impacts the future.
I see the JFK assassination as part of the sequel storyline but don't see It as main part
the time travel Is about.I doudt The time traveller would be Cable.I can't believe they
would lose opportunity to Include a famalier character.Besides why would people want someone with such a convorled history like Cable In film.

Sounds interesting. I just really hope this doesn't turn into another Wolverine heavy movie. It'd be great if they could mix more of the old cast with the new cast. It certainly is ambitious if this rumour is true though.

With Days of Future Past storyline they COULD go all Star Trek 09 with it and have FC be a different universe than X-Men, X2, X3, and Wolverine. I hope not

Anyway, that's a good storyline to choose. If I was making an X-Men film series DOFP would be one of the first stories I'd adapt.

I don't see Wolverine as major character since Hugh Jackman will be finishing up The Wolverine just as this starts filming.I don't think we can totaly dismiss Wolverine being
one sent back In time but I think It's more likely he won't be major character.He could
show up In future sequenze.My hope Is they will nodd to original stor and have It be
Kitty sent back In time.Hopefully with the codename of Shadowcat now.

You're correct...but I believe it was only one new character would appear in the FC sequel. Not necessarily a returning character

You could have a opening sequenze lasting 10-15 Minutes In future with a few
returning actors.One of them Is sent Into past.

The one character to go toe to toe with Magneto could be a character from earlyier films.Or We could have 1 new X-Man or 1 X-Man from earlier films.

I am hoping this film Is called X-Menays of future Past.

Well, this unfortunately would mean Wolverine all up in the film. But hopefully McKellen, Stewart, Marsden, and maybe Berry would also return. As much as I love Jean, she can sit this one out.

I wouldn't mind seeing Wolverine show up . But I'm also hoping to see Cyclops return, Storm, Beast...Hell, even Nightcrawler.
