I truely believe Joss will be back as a writer at least because this is just too big a franchise to leave so soon. I don't think he'd be particularly concerned about money (I'm sure he has plenty), but he'll surely recognise the benefits of having such a lucrative franchise under your belt when you're interested in persuing you're own weird projects.
