Vy the way Hardy isn't skinny. He's a bit chubby but with small built limbs.
to be honest with u....everytime a casting is announced there is always some backlash....the heath ledger hate was just disgusting...hardy didnt get it as bad as i felt that anne got more of the backlash so nolans castings are pretty much never favored at first lol

Sorry to break it to you but the scariness you all see in Hardy's eyes, is something I have already seen in so many actors. Even I can do those so called eyes.

Former soldier? don't think so. don't cry about it bud.
And yet The Rock hasn't given that one convincing performance where's more than just your stereotypical tough guy.

Yeah, I'm sure you're very intimidating guy.

Well we all know the Heath heat was due to Brokeback. I'm against same sex marriage but I knew that would've been interesting, the casting of Heath. Hardy and Maggie G are completely different stories though.

For damn sure, if I had to pick one to brawl with, I would choose Hardy way before I would choose The Rock.

And as great of a fighter Pacquiao is, I'm damn sure Tyson would kick his butt.

real tough guy looks are scarier than scripted acting looks so yes id take a guy giving a tough guy look in a ring in which there is actual contact over a guy whos doing scary looks for a film

Oh yes, Pro-Wrestling makes you a legit tough guy. Please excuse me now while I laugh.

Beastmode... I have seen every single one of The Rock's movies because I had a friend before that was obsessed with him. And I still say he couldn't pull off a role like Bane. And also, I never said anything about Tom Hardy being the only one that could pull this off. So both you're "What am I saying, this is the Tom Hardy thread, not even the Bane thread." and "Comments like what batlovescat made lets me know for damn sure that nobody on these threads know about The Rock outside of his WWE days." are wrong.

The Rock being cast in the role of Bane, would be like Arnold Schwarzanegger being cast as Mr. Freeze. Oh wait, that happened... and look how it turned out.

Wasn't the reaction to the first image of Bane a fairly positive one?

I remember when the set photos/videos of Batman and Bane fighting at city hall is when people started complaining about Hardy's size.

Right.

If I were intimidated by guys who had massive muscles and tough guy looks then I would have gotten my butt kicked at every Judo and Kyokyshin Karate tournament and every bouncer job I ever had.

Yeah! OK, you refreshed my memory.

But on the whole, his size in that photo impressed the majority, or not?

It's just fanboys wanting the actor to be the exact size that Bane is in the comics. Finding a real actor isn't important, until of course they see the movie. Then the comments about the performance would start.

i didnt say u were intimidated by guys with muscle but if your trying to sell me on hardy looking more intimidating by a guy who actually used to do pro wrestling n had actual experience with contact sports cuz pro wrestling isnt all fake then im not gonna try n argue but i will agree to hardy being the better actor so hopefully this kills the topic

Very true.

It's funny, because I remember when Tom was cast in the film, I thought it would be sweet if he ended playing Bane, because of his role in Bronson. I felt Tom had not only the acting chops but could play a realistically "big" live action Bane. But I'm like nah, Nolan wouldn't do Bane.....

Boy was I wrong.

Wasn't it?

Very brilliant way to debut Bane, that's for sure.

When it comes to fights, pro wrestling is way more legit than a Hollywood movie. You fail at logic in that aspect.
