The lizard's look was great IMO. He did ear the lab coat at times and the no snout made it easier for him to emote and made speech look more natural. A snout would have made these 2 things look silly.

Solid. You can really feel how much he wants his arm back at times, but it doesn't come across as heavy handed or forced. Not spectacular, but he did a good job.

It looks really good. You know I find a big difference in CGI when I watch a clip on the computer compared to the tv or big screen. For some reason on tv or in the theater, the CG looks really good and its not as obvious.

Also, I think part of the problem is when people take screen caps and dissect each clip piece by piece.

I am trying to picture the Lizard talking with the snout, and it just doesn't seem like it would look good on film. It works for the comics, but probably not on film. Unless they wanted him to become more of a mindless beast.

When I first saw the concept art, I was so disappointed. But once I really got to see the Lizard in action, all I could say was AWESOME!

Remember how happy everyone was when we saw the lab coat?

Yeah, I'm not too wild about it either. He looks like another character (from something else not related to Spidey) but I can't put my finger on it.

Aren't you guys taking all the fun out of it? Crazy toll taunts are one thing but if a person intelligently argues WHY they are biased then isn't that what forums are for? Are these just propaganda pages now where everyone joins in to say how great a film is and sings kumbaya?

Personally, I loved the Raimi Trilogy but am giving Amazing Spider-Man a fair shake and will judge it with an open mind. If I find that I enjoyed Raimi's version better I can't say so here? If I find that TDKR doesn't even measure up to Spider-Man 3, I can't say so on the Hype?

What's the point? I miss "the good old days" where Internet Wars where a way to sharpen debating skills.

Read the announcement again. It says you may discuss everything civilly, but the taunting must stop. Nowhere does it say people can't criticize the movie. Not. One. Place.

You should see his toy. I was in Target and couldn't stop shaking my head. He actually looks happy, as opposed to evil.

That being said, i dislike Spidey's costume more than the Lizard design.

All want from this movie is for Peter Parker to be the Peter Parker I know from the comics and for Spider-Man to fight and act like the Spider-Man I read in the comics.......so far so good

Saw an early preview. After watching this I think even 3rd one was way better then this. Actually is a Twilight like romance film about Peter Parker. Spider-Man is just there for a little time to attract more viewers. I went for a action adventure film instead I got a love story. Previously I thought Ghost Rider 2 was worst film this year now its Amazing Lame Spider Man. This really happens when you hire a director whose only film is a low budget Romance film. This movie just made me sick, how can you even fool audience by giving a Romance film packaged as an action film. Whatever 3D was used was decent but, climax with Lizard was not anything special. CGI looks very fake and cheesy. The effects in this film are only comparable to first Spider-Man, second and third was way beyond this league. I don't know who was the master mind to green light this script. Because this will not attract the core Spidey fans, but if the studio wanted to attract the Twilight audience they might be successful. To conclude I hope this is the end of Spider-Man and its rights go back to Marvel and Disney so we can see Real Spider Man in near future.

(this is not a spoiler LOL) I've seen the preview and I'm literally mad i have loves spider-man since i was 2 years old ( i had spider-man shirts and action figures and this little stuffed teddy of him.. and I'm a girl LOL) and i loved the spider-man 1, 2 and 3 and then they go and ruin it by not making a 4th one and remaking the 1st one with new characters and really its just romance... i think I'm not even gonna bother watching it and I'm gonna stick with my spider-man Movies (and Spider-man will always be my favorite superhero ) hm... one more thing... WHY WOULD THEY CANCEL SPIDER-MAN 4!? and get rid of the real cool proper peter parker? he was so cool I'm so sad that the world is so cruel to poor spider-man. Sony Suck... lol. well I'm going to watch the movie so i can write a review on how rubbish it is compared to the Real Spider-man OK? thank you for your time ^_^

I apologize ahead of time if there is bad spelling or grammar. This being my first review for IMDb, I wanted it to be a positive one and I was waiting for The Amazing Spider-man to do it. I must admit I had high expectations for this movie. Setting myself for High expectation is not a great thing to do, because it could never live up to my expectations. I knew I would be let down a little. I had no idea that my expectation would be crushed. First thing I should start off with. If you are expecting a Spider-man story, don't. Expect a Peter Parker love story with some great action. I have read spider-man stories for years and I loved the connection that Gwen Stacey and Spider-man had together. What I do not like is twihard, romance novel like eye candy up on the screen. When sitting in the movie, I had to deal with the girls talking about how hot they thought Peter Parker was. My immediate thought was "Peter is me, a nerd, sense when has any girl found me attractive?" I realized that he was the epitome of what tweens found attractive. He may be playing a nerd but he certainly does not look like one. Then I experienced something that I hope no spider-man fan should ever go through. when Peter took of his clothes, My EARS FELT LIKE THEY WHERE GOING TO SPLIT OPEN! Because the girls in the theater screamed so loud for peter having no shirt on. I should have sold my ticket on ebay. There was redeeming factors for this movie, like I said before there is some great action and an amazing cast to pull it off. The relationship between Peter, Dr.Connors and the friction between Captain Stacy was great. The origin story of Peter seemed more plausible then Sam's Spider-man (More realistic?) But what made this crushingly unwatchable, for me, was the way the romance was written, then seeing it play out. This coming from a guy who love some well written romance movies (like The Notebook). What I am trying to say is (WTF!). Headline for this movie should be. Spider-man, a love story. Maybe I am over reacting. I did see it with a bunch of screaming girls. If you are going to see this movie. Whether you think it will be good or not, see it a good two weeks after the release to avoid the large Twilight crowd.
