I'm going to hold off judgement of the 3D until I've seen it on IMAX 3D. In the normal theater the best I can say is the 3D was subtle and never pulled me out of the moment. It should be more engaging on a bigger screen.

Yup, well this movie is going to be my first time viewing IMAX and in 3D as well, so it's going to be something special.
Also I'd take the 3D comments with a grain of salt, as alot of 3D movies tend to get mixed opinions on that anyway, and 3D is very subjective to one's own eyes. Also only a third of the theatre actually benefits from the 'actual' 3D, so if the 3D is 'off' it might be because of that.

After viewing 3D in many theaters, I have found that how good 3D looks also depends on your seating position, it looks best if you are in the middle row (in front of screen, instead of sitting on either side.)
so 3D experience varies form one viewer to another. |

Also depends on the quality of the theater. I've never been disappointed with IMAX 3D though

3D is subjective, but good 3D is obvious to the majority, the 3D in TASM is fantastic, webslinging is insane.
And yep, sitting in the center seats is an important factor. |

Same! Actually to make things worse, they didn't play the third trailer, only the second one. Everyone was waiting to see the newest trailer, but...

I wonder if NC will do an Old vs. New for Spider-Man. He'll probably do a Bum Review of ASM instead, though.

I think in IMAX it's actually 2/3rds back/ 5th-6th row from the top in the centre because of the steeper angle the seats go up at.(or at least I hope so, I booked premiere seats as you get to reserve them and dont end up waiting for hours. )

Really can't wait for jeremy john's review on it! He is probably going to complain about the "Untold Story" not really being there though.

I'm annoyed that it will cost me $20 to see this movie in IMAX... feel like I am being ripped off.

Yeah but I don't really have that much money. I'm going to pay for it anyway, but still. The problem with the matinee is that it is too early.

Haha well I planned on seeing this movie a few times in theaters. So my first time will be IMAX, then I will just stick to standard 3-D or 2-D.
![]() I'm sure it will be worth it, for Spider-Man! |

One problem with the early showings is all the little kids. If constant chatter doesnt bother you then its not an issue I guess. I wont see a movie I actually care about before 10pm. Especially if its the first week of a popular movie. Also, the more expensive the ticket (IMAX 3D, RPX, etc.) the less likely the theater will be filled with parents who couldnt afford a babysitter. I actually prefer 2D in most cases, but at least in Boston the 2D rooms in the multiplexes (the arthouses are different of course) are to be avoided like the plague.
Im sypathetic to those who can't afford a 20 dollar ticket or a babysitter for their 3-5 children, but Im not willing to suffer along with them. I only see a handful of movies every year, and even fewer in IMAX or 3D, so I have no problem paying a premium to see TASM or TA or TDKR in an optimum setting. After TASM and TDKR, I don't think there are any movies that I will be seeing for a while. I am looking forward to The Great Gatsby and Django Unchained this December though.

I found that seeing a big movie on opening night guarantees that you won't be bothered by talking. Everytime I go on opening night it's completely silent because everyone really wants to see it.
