Yeah, as much as they have nailed down the character we have yet to see a movie were he isnt a majority of the focus. Be nice to see them give some other characters that development time.

totally agree. These movies are called 'X-MEN' after all. So Id love a sequel to focus more on the actual x-men instead of who is the big villain.

If they do another prequel set in the late 60's or early 70's, I need more screentime for all the x-members. The x-men deserve more development than what we've gotten to date.

The end of Origins, where Xavier rescues Scott, takes place March 28, 1979. Gavin Hood based it on the actual Three Mile Island accident alluding to said historical account being a cover-up for what really happened.

That places Wolverine's departure from Team X & encounter with baby Storm's village in 1973.

If Cyclops is in high school in 1979, age 14 - 18, he's anywhere from 40 to 45-years-old in the trilogy.

Baby Storm looked between ages 2 - 3 in 1973, putting her in her 30s during the trilogy.

Ideally, I would love this film to borrow a lot from the brilliant first (and only) season of Wolverine and the X-Men. The entire season was an adaptation of DoFP, and it worked beautifully.

With age of characters no matter the actual ages of actors we can assume Cyclops,Jean,and Storm were all In their 30's In original trilogy.or sake of arguement let's say Bryan Singer wanted the past of film to take place In 1980 then you could fit Cyclops,Jean,and storm as teenagers.

As for borrowing from Wolverine and The X-men you could do that.Have Xavier changes mind with younger self and replace newer characters from show with actors from OT.To make that work you would have to cut back and forth between past and future.

On that basis he was 12 in 1944 and 30 in 1962. He was obviously a child prodigy, hence getting his professorship quite early. It's possible to be a professor before the age of 30, though pretty exceptional.

Morgan Lily is described as 'Young Raven (10yrs)' so she was 10 in 1944 and 28 in 1962.

Hmmm. It's tricky.

Such a shame they didn't map out the franchise from the beginning.

Creating character maps and timelines is something you do when writing a novel - or something any decent novelist does anyway - so you don't trip over the details. Seems like it's a bit late for that now!

I still think the 90s angle can work. I remember getting my first cell phone, a tiny Ericsson in 1994. Flat panel TVs took off in 2002 but Xavier's wealth & technology may have accelerated that process a decade.

The 'N Sync song was released in January 2000 so perhaps that was a clue by Singer that X2 takes place in 2000.

I know this has been brought up on here before, but what does everyone think about the idea of Nimrod traveling to the past to combat the efforts of the time traveler a la Terminator? The FC characters have to have something to fight too, don't they? Or do we think it should be another X-Men vs Magneto/brotherhood?

The FC faction just need to stop the assassination. That means a fight with Fassbender, Frost, Mystique & whoever else they decide to put in Magneto's Brotherhood.

If Wolverine is the traveler, it allows for a great opportunity to show Fassbender ripping out his adamantium during the battle.

We can also get the psychic battle between Xavier & Frost we never got in FC.

that's exactly what happened on the 90's tv series. I watched part I and a bit from part II of Days of future and I thought it was an interesting idea.
