One thing about the Raimi trilogy that I thought was so good was their opening titles.
With Spidey 1 we got series of webbing, Spidey 2 gave us Alex Ross artwork to retell us the history of the first film. And Spidey 3 gave us a sand and symboit mix of retelling the past two films. In TASM we get a very similar opening title, which seems like the normal approach, spiders and webs. How do you want to see the next films progress with their opening titles? More of the same or a "recap" style too?

I think they should have changed the opening titles to something different purely because when I was watching them I could have easily been watching Spider-man 4 it was that similar to the previous 3.

Not sure but I think even the lettering font was the same which explains it, I'm just sad we didn't get a full opening to get a sense of the Spider-Man's theme.

The letter font wasn't the same, but it did look similar.

The font is very different, that's not even a question. This was just a quick 40 second or less opening that went right into the movie. However, I did kind of miss the Raimi openings. I still remember seeing that columbia pictures logo, and then the screen fading out to the Marvel Logo, followed by the strand of webbing going across the screen.

Maybe art showing off what happened between the events of TAS and TAS 2? Like Spidey fighting petty crime, swinging, being late for school etc.

I think they should do their own thing. Well meaning the new art director and of course the director should do what they want and not feel beholden to the first trilogy. I think Marc Webb did a great job of putting his own visual stamp on the franchise so let that continue in the opening credits as well.

I hope the score doesn't change, because the Raimi films all have that signature music for Spidey. I don't want it to become like X-Men where each film has a different score and nothing that can be used to identify it.

While normally I would agree with you, the music in this film was so forgettable that I'd honestly much rather a new theme. Though only if it's clearly better, if it's just as good, then there would be no point.

I don't even understand how someone could forget it. I remember hearing it before I saw the movie, and when I heard it in the theater while waiting for my movie time to roll by, I recognized it as the new spidey theme.

Maybe your username is a hint as to why you forgot the theme music? lol jk... I loved the theme, and have it stuck in my head. But I do prefer Elfman's score.

I honestly couldn't imagine Peter parkouring to Elfman's score though.
I think Elfman's score fits well with the swinging of the Raimi trilogy, but not the joint parkour-webslinging of Webb. |

Yeah, I agree with that. It fit for that trilogy. However, did they really find a "theme" for this series?
