She'll be punking him Phoenix style soon enough.

That would actually make sense. Although, I guess she only has access to her full powers when she's crazy or something. That would be the easiest way to keep her at a reasonable level for long-term storytelling.

Of course not, I'm just saying it's not the heart of the problem with that guy. He should be doing 1 shot graphic novels, not stuff we wait for each month.

A Maximoff(Lensherr)/Summers relationship??
That'd be a Mr. Sinister wet dream right there

It might also create an interesting dynamic for Scott and Erik over in UXM

Alex has been linked up to a Lensherr for 4 decades! Are you forgetting about this?

It's easy to remember that Polaris is Magneto's daughter (now/again). It's harder to remember that she's Pietro and Wanda's sister. They've not had a whole lot of interaction.

Sinister has never displayed any interest in Alex ..(or Gabriel..or Adam) to even bother with his genetic material.

It is Scott he wants. Scott has IT.

S**t, yeah I realized this about 5 seconds after I posted

I still just can't wrap my head around Polaris as an official Daughter of Magnus

My bad

and as to above, Scott ain't got jacks**t
Alex and Wanda could have a crazy powerful baby
Sinister would be dumb not to exploit it

That's not entirely true. Sinister ran the orphanage that Alex went to after his parent's apparent death and monitored him as a kid and followed him even after he was adopted. He was there when his mutant powers first manifested and noted that he had more potential than Scott but placed but lacked control, so he placed blocks on his abilities, which suppressed them until he was an adult. Why he never came back for him after that happened, is anyone's guess but Alex was important to him when he was younger.

It still doesn't really sit right with me that Polaris is Magneto's daughter again. I liked it more when that was just a rumor she didn't believe. Mutant parents and children with the same powers are weird, given that mutation is presented as totally random like 90% of the time.

Few mutations, if any, actually make much sense. For example, I feel like no change in human DNA could give you Storm's power. Beast makes sense.

Well, yeah, but I'm talking more about internal consistency than real-world sense. Children of mutants almost never have the exact same powers as their parent(s), which makes the very few instances where that does happen feel really awkward to me.

Not sure if that's entirely true. There aren't a lot of mutants in the MU with children but the ones who do have mutant children, do tend to have the child take after at least one parent. I actually think this is the case more than not.

Cable, X-Man and Rachel all have TP/TK like Jean and Maddie do

Ruby Summers has optic blasts and ruby (variation on diamond) skin like Scott and Emma

Siryn has sonic scream like her father

Nightcrawler has blue skin like Mystique

The 5 Stepford Cuckoos have tp like Emma

Daken has claws and a healing factor like Wolverine

Nocturne has blue skin like Nightcrawler and can teleport. Not to mention hex bolts like Wanda

Wiccan has magic based powers like Scarlet Witch

Speed has superspeed like his Wanda's twin, Quicksilver

and of course Polaris has magnetism like Magneto

A mutation is random when it occurs but once a person is a mutant, the chances that their offspring will become a mutant is increased significantly. Think about it. The X-gene is in a mutant's DNA. The chances that that X-gene will be passed on is very likely to happen, especially if both parents have one. 2 mutants having a human child becomes more rare at that point. It makes total sense that the X-gene that is passed down will be similar to what the parent had

A lot of those characters with inherited powers from their parents are relatively new. I guess the trend has been to make mutation less random over time. It does make sense, I guess, but then you've got Pietro and Wanda and Franklin Richards (although I guess he may not count since his parents aren't mutants, just superhumans) and others who have totally different powers. I guess the main reason I don't like inherited powers is that it's just boring.

Franklin definetly doesn't count as his parents aren't mutants. His alternate reality son, Hyperstorm however does have powers which are similar to him and Rachel grey, his AR mother

Wanda and Pietro are one of the few examples of mutants that didn't inherit their powers from their mutant parent

Sometimes the inherited x-gene leads to... interesting results, like Beak and Angel Salvador.
