I like the idea of more real-world military touches to Cap's costume, but that does go a bit overboard into a sci fi space marine look.

Anyone else feel like Remender's arcs always run a bit too long? I always like his stories for the first few issues, and then realize by like part 6 or 7 that they're really dragging. He would probably benefit greatly from his comics double-shipping, in fact.

Remender always writes things in 20-25 issue chunks. Uncanny X-Force was the same way.

I'm ok with military touches, but that's practically a full on suit of military body armor

and yeah, UA (and CA's first arc, at least) have been dragging a little bit lately
While UXF did have that long play, 25+ issue story, it was still broken down into digestible 4-6 issue arcs

I love a more modern military look for Cap. I've never been opposed to (slight) costume changes over the years. Some looks just don't work anymore (i.e. white boots and gloves for the Punisher - artists in the late '80s realized how ridiculous it is but modern artists STILL have to ignore the progress made and go full retro with their costume designs every now and then ). Anyway, I'm okay with Cap's redesign. It could be better but it could also look a lot worse.

As for the arc length, 25 issue story arcs read great in trade but are a major drag when going from month-to-month. If there has ever been a title that would benefit from double shipping, Uncanny Avengers is it.

Steve Epting did the best Cap costume ever.

I doubt they will stick.

Remember at the end of issue 4, there was the 3 month fast forward and Wanda was there.

Wow, great issue. Wishing I held out and read all these back to back. Starting to feel I've been a little impatient on this run, and coming off UXF expected this book to fire on all cylinders right off the bat. Some heavy **** goen on right now. Fully invested now.

I was honestly on the brink of dropping this title. I just lost track of what the heck was going on, and I was getting annoyed. I was debating on dropping a few titles, this being one of them, and decided to give it a fair read through. So I sat down last night and this morning and read the entire series.

Note to other readers... this series reads WAY better in one sitting. I went from likely dropping the book to eager counting down the time to get to the shop today to pick up the next issue. This title is actually a LOT better than I realized, but it definitely needs to be read together. This is definitely a trade/omnibus sort of read.

I looked into it and realized that Remender's writing a 25 part series here with another 11 issues that are the result of his 25 part epic. Now I'm kinda excited and look forward to continuing on with the series.

Still disliking Janet a whole lot. Not a fan of how Remender wrote Rogue either, but at least his reasoning makes sense. Grief of losing a father figure very well could regress a character to primal anger, and that's exactly what has happened to Rogue. And her hatred of Wanda is well placed in that regard and knowing what Wanda had done in the past. I grew to like her animosity as the story progressed. Janet though... still can't stand her.

I'm a little worried about this title. I've been enjoying it, and I greatly enjoyed Rogue finally getting killed off, just as she deserved for being such a raging goddamn b**** throughout the whole series, but I'm a bit leery of all the future shenanigans coming up. A bunch of characters get bumped into the future to fight some future Brotherhood? Sounds boring. The needle on this series has been tipped way over to the X-Men side for a while now, and it sounds like the future Brotherhood stuff is going to make it feel even more like an X-Men comic that a couple Avengers accidentally wandered into. I don't know if I'll be able to sustain my interest with all that.

Havok's new costume looks cool, though. Goggles really need to make a comeback as a major costume element.

I miss bomber jackets myself.

And for as much as I'm enjoying this title again, having to read yet another alternate reality does bum me out. I mean, on just the X-Men side of things we've had House of M, Age of X, Battle of the Atom, and by extension Age of Ultron as well over the past few years. Not to mention the whole X-Men line feels fairly alternate now with Cyclops being portrayed as the bad guy to Wolverine's mister nobility. It feels like an ongoing What If? comic.

So... basically a Midnight Sons reunion with "Avengers" shoehorned into their name?

They weren't going to stay dead anyway with all the time hopping and death/life seeds laying all over the place.
