It was after the initial credits.

Connors is sitting in a jail cell, and a mysterious figure asks him if he told Peter the truth about his father.

Just gonna repost this since it's super long and was at the very end of the past thread:

Sorry dude, it's just a question I ask to see whether people liked the past films or not. Chill out.

Hm. So it's pretty much like I expected in quality. Not totally surprising. Is it true that they cut a bunch of stuff?

Aw. Then again, I wasn't expecting it to surpass Raimi for me. And on its own, it sounds like a rather mediocre to average film.

That's probably a good decision.

The RT score keeps on dropping. I don't know if that matters to you, but it's at a 72% and seems to be getting lower rather than higher.

Again, they worked for that moment in time. Now, lets fast foward... I think this time they may have nailed it. We are def getting a sequel and it's planned to be a trilogy, so whatever didnt work in the 1st maybe will get worked out by the 2nd installment. I have confidence in this new series.

I just really hope the series progresses, I dont wanna get to 3 and then what? Anouther reboot?? Idk if I can take anouther reboot...
Ha, I have a terrible memory.

It could definitely improve as it goes on. I just hope they go in a completely different direction this time. Not in tone, but in storytelling. But with the Transformers writers on TASM2, I don't have much hope for that being anything more than average either.

I just watched it on youtube. How could it not be Norman? He would be the only one to have knowledge about Connors, Richard Parker & their experiments right? I don't want to see Green Goblin again so soon though.

Rewatching Begins on my phone, I noticed how Bruce knocked out Ra's so easily when he was trying to escape and was knocked out the entire scene. What the hell man, he's Liam freakin Neeson!

And as far as the whole "untold story" thing goes, I distinctly remember an interview with either Webb or producer Grant Curtis where they said they envisioned the whole plot line with Peter's parents unfolding over multiple films, so it makes sense that they would want to leave that opening for a sequel.

As far as the search for Uncle Ben's killer, I don't think Peter ever abandoned that, but both Capt. Stacy and Dr. Connors/Lizard widened Peter's then-narrow mindset to use his gifts for more than just a personal vendetta. After all:

Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
"That car thief was leading us to the guys that operate the whole ring, and this guy just comes in and ruins a two year investigation."

Obviously I'm paraphrasing, but you get the idea. If you look at it that way, it's a very smart move by Webb.

I would've went to see it if they didn't already release 1/4 of the thing online anyway, and gave away the ending with the game, and..yano..if it came out 4 years from now when it might be even slightly needed.

I didn't know you were so apathetic towards the film.

I can see them ruling out it being Norman, if only because they might want to wait and see who they cast in that role. But they could also easily make it him. The guy reminds me of Dafoe which is odd.

Agreed. As I've said before, the thing that killed my interest in this film? Sony's panic and overexposure of the whole thing. That just ruined it. I was so on board at the beginning, then it became "Damage Control: The Movie".

Heh, so you played the game that was tied to the movie, and you're blaming them for ruining the ending to the movie you haven't seen?

Did the pretty average reception put you off as well?

I feel like I remember you citing that as one of the reasons you no longer wanted/needed to see it.

Yeah, so maybe you shouldn't have played it if you didn't want to be spoiled. The only person you can blame for that is yourself.

Kinda. I knew the film would be disliked by some no matter what, but I was hoping it would be so in terms of it's "daringness"... not it's acting, characterization, and lackthereof of the former. Once I heard they were playing it safe and it is essentially just a slightly more comic accurate SM1, I knew it wouldn't be my cup of tea.

I'll see it next week and relay my thoughts.

I've said it before, but I don't think it'll touch SM1 (or 2, for that matter) for me. Especially considering so many elements of the story are supposedly recycled.
