ASM Blu-ray: Most Wanted Features and Extras

I would like to see the idiots at Sony tape a confession video where they admit that they couldn't let the director make "his" movie. That they couldn't help themselves and they are the reason the movie has such a choppy feel. That they are responsible for ruining many of the best parts of the movie in the commercials/trailers. Then they can end the little video by saying that in the future they will have some faith in the director they chose and let him do what they hired him for...

Definitely want at least a director's commentary, where Webb tells all about everything... cut scenes, original intent, anecdotes, etc. Would be great to have separate commentaries or group commentaries with Webb and the actors as well. That would be divine.

Would love a Special Collecter's Edition with different goodies from the movie like we got with the first 2 Spider-Man movies.

When all three movies are out: Richard Parker's briefcase containing 'files' (the discs) covering the events that happened involving Spider-Man, along with other goodies.

Yes, I got the idea from the Phase 1: Avengers Assembled case.

I would love an extended cut but we won't get that. If not all of them i.e. the subplot that his transformation was no coincidence then how about a few of the ones that don't effect that storyline. Maybe they'l do an ASM 1.5 or something.

Other than that deleted scenes, outtakes, a documentary on the film, a documentary on the character (maybe one for Spider-man and a short one for the Lizard), commentary with Garfield, Stone and the director and trailers.

Webb confirmed there wasn't going to be a director's cut.

I wonder though.. aren't some DVD/BluRay releases longer than their theatrical release? Maybe he won't release a director's cut, but the movie will still lengthen certain scenes?

Some studios put extended cuts of movies on the same disc along with the theatrical cut of the movie but Sony just isn't going to put everything back into the movie that was cut out.

Sony made SM 2.1 but it was ages after SM2 came out, so there's hope.

As I think someone has said here before, I'll happily double-dip and spring for an extended cut after the theatrical cut is released on bluray, if Sony wants to revisit later and do a The Amazing Spider-Man 1.1 or however it's numbered.

I would only hope that Sony would release an extended cut before Amazing Spider-Man 2 comes out but if there is one at all that would probably be when Sony would release it.

I never heard about the cheeseburger before, the story I googled up said Webb watched it over and over, so it must have been recorded. Yeah, they need to include that footage. I wonder if the cheeseburger inspired that scene where he comes home hungry, nearly eats a fly, and scarves down Aunt May's meatloaf?

Is there really a cut Peter/Gwen first date scene? Or are we just speculating because it was so weird that she invited him to meet her parents on their "first date"?

The Peter/Gwen first date was actually supposed to be after the dinner, arpund when he swung through the city carrying her.

I'd like an IN DEPTH feature on the making of the suit. Even if I'm not 100% for the design, I still LOVE seeing the process. Everything from concept art, to body scans to molding and fabric decisions. No dvd ever really goes into that very much.

I'd also like a comprehensive look at how and why they made certain decisions and shot or computer generated certain scenes.

I think the Lord of the Rings extended edition dvd features should be what every movie should strive for.

As far as deleted scenes go, Marc Webb made it sound like we wouldn't get anything special. Since we are getting 4-5 clips, this is what I think we should expect:

1. The full doorman scene
2. Coach asking Peter if he wants to play football
3. More of Gwen talking to Peter as she heals his scars, possibly the quote "You're a wanted man, Peter Parker."
4. Dr. Connors asking Peter if he is "ready to play God?"

It seems like the only big deleted scene that would really change the whole subplot is the sewer scene with Ratha and the Lizard. This is where Ratha would have come down with a gun to kill Connors, but later get into a fight with Lizard. "If you want the truth about your parents, Peter... come and get it!" Don't expect this on the DVD/Blu Ray. By adding this scene, the studio would be admitting that they were falsely advertising the movie.

Just as Raimi or the other producers ignored the great amount of deleted scenes in the Spider-Man 3 commentary, the same will probably happen here for Amazing Spider-Man.

Also, I think Ratha will be in the 2nd film, and that he'll reveal to Peter that he let him in the Spider-room.

What I want for extra features will be dual commentaries:

1. Standard creator's commentary
2. In-character commentary feat. Peter Parker, Gwen Stacy, and Norman Osborn


Also, in an Unrated/R-rated director's version, featuring this extra commentary:

1. Denis Leary snarking and cursing at everything that's happening onscreen
