Just because they are the cards Marvel have put in the table, that doesn't mean they'll get what they want. Fox have improved their game recently (well when it comes to films at least), so I think the suits at Fox know that it'd be pretty redundant to keep FF but let go of SS and Galactus.

In fact, I'm just going to call BS on this story. The potential of an FF universe with all their greatest enemies/allies/whatever is far greater than the potential of a DD reboot. The whole story just seems to defy logic.

It shows that DD is at jeopardy of returning to MS.

Marvel/Disney could very well get the film rights back to Galactus, Silver Surfer, The Watcher, and other Cosmic beings in the MCU. I've been saying all along that in order to tell the ultimate space epic Marvel could really use Galactus and Surfer. The level of epicness of a film series that features The Avengers, The GOTG, Thanos, Galactus, Silver Surfer, et al is off the charts. I don't even think Star Wars would be able to compete with this.

I really hope Fox accepts this deal. This is such a brilliant move by Marvel/Disney who seem to NEVER surprise me with how many brilliant moves they have up their sleeves.

This is a total win/win for M/D. If Fox accepts they get access to all the major players they need to make an ultimate MCU (besides Dr. Doom ); if Fox doesn't accept than Marvel gets Daredevil back and they can look forward to a street level MCU at some point. And quite frankly I don't believe the MCU needs the Fantastic Four proper, just the cosmic characters and again ideally Dr. Doom (but I know that won't happen).

Although the terms appear less favorable to Fox on the surface (but honestly who cares about them) they would still have 3 Marvel franchises to work with; albeit with one slightly more limited.

Wow. What a brilliant move for Marvel. They just "get it". Fingers crossed that this goes through.

Jesus, you sure know how to suck Marvel's balls.

Don't take that offensively, because I didn't mean it like that. I just found it funny.

When have I sucked their balls? I'm not a huge fan of Fox, but I can recognize that they are handling their movies better than they were a few years back. Also, I do like Trank as the FF director after seeing how he handled Chronicle.

If you view admiring Marvel's visionary film plans is "ballsucking" than I hope your 12 year old mind enjoys that image.

Oh, calm down. It was pretty ball sucky, though.

Not that I'm hating on Marvel, because I love both it and DC about the same.

Honestly, I think I'd rather Marvel get DD back than Galactus. I know how important he is for the any potential Guardians stories, but the MCU needs to keep some street-level characters in their lineup. The most street-level characters they have are Black Widow and Hawkeye, who probably wouldn't be able to hold a successful movie.

I love that the MCU is going cosmic, but they need to remember to keep some balance.

Marvel has alot of street level characters: Moon Knight, Shang-Chi, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, etc.

Don't forget to gargle.

I hear Marvel's balls are quite huge, especially after all these risks that they've been taking with their movies.

Could be that Marvel is mainly aiming for the rights to Surfer, over any of the other FF characters. Reason being? Marvel already owns Hulk, Dr. Strange, and Namor.

Well you could argue that with Guardians of the Galaxy.

Hulk is the only real common denominator with the Defenders. Dr Strange and Namor might be Avengers, but they're traditionally thought of as Defenders. Even Hulk is more traditionally a Defender until Marvel have been pushing him more as an Avenger in recent years.

The Defenders have different stories and open things further. They've fought some pretty cosmic villains themselves.

The Guardians are teleporting all over the universe, fighting to keep galactic peace, trying to keep the universe from unraveling, etc. Heroes for Hire charge for their services, the Inhumans are this undercover organization, X-Men are these persecuted individuals, etc. They all have their own unique take on why they're a team, what they do, etc.

The Defenders have always just been the less-famous Avengers.
