So you want the trilogy to end on a downer?

They've said it's going to be a trilogy numerous times. Based on that it's safe to say they have a plan for movies 2 and 3.

What if we have GG and some other villain. Say like in the beginning, we have Electro, Kraven or Mysterio be the villain for the majority of the film. Then towards the end Osborn takes the Goblin Serum, finds out who Parker is, and kidnaps Gwen.

Of course. I've acknowledged this point many times. ALP said that he'd want to see Gwen Stacy's death "cap off" the trilogy.
Maybe I took his comment out of context, I don't know. I'd rather they not end it that way though. Like I've said several times before, I wish for Gwen Stacy to die in the second-to-last film.

I'd like to see several smaller villains. Maybe like a superpowered gang war, with Spider-Man now on the scene. I'd really like to see Shocker giving Spidey trouble.

Yea, Shocker would be a cool minor villain.

Definitely. Still, I didnt think Raimi was capable of some of those bad choices . Into or not you should still display something that works. The way he handled the character, even they way he talked was off imo. Just bad choices there. There are things about Venom and the symbiotes that seem right up Ramis alley with horror films, even knowing he never liked Venom I was surprised at what we got.

I doubt we'll see Venom, but I think that may be a good thing. He's a tough character to pull off well. There were already enough similarities between TASM and SM1 -- do we really need to see Brock transform into Venom *again*? It's a reboot -- let's delve into some of the more interesting characters, already.
That being said, my money's on Mysterio. I can't think of any other villain who could pull off the credits scene in that way. I mean, even Electro can't teleport into rooms. It's gotta be Mysterio. Who else could it possibly be without rewiring someone's powers/abilities? We don't need another Deadpool debacle, here. It seems clear that there's already a larger agency at work here regarding Oscorp, likely with Norman at the head of things. Is he really dying? If so, then we're going to need to get his plot going up and running -- and fast -- since they pushed so hard to move to human trials. That means we'll probably have two villains in SM2: The Green Goblin and (IMO) Mysterio. Why is that a good combination? Connors' serum is something that, when refined, gives massive physical advantage. Mysterio could be the analogous outcome of trying to augment the other side of the coin: The mind. It's all too early to tell, but it's reasonable to assume that Peter's father played a role in this (it's gonna have to, as the can of worms has already been opened. You can't just skip it for an entire movie). He obviously withheld the decay-rate algorithm, so the physical augmentation side of things was held stagnant. I think Parker's father had something to do with that man's powers (and Connors obviously knows about it). It's also possible that he tried to do something for Osborn (and messed up?) and this is now why he's dying. I'm uncomfortable speculating with so little information, but it all seems like a viable pathway to take. Could go any direction, really. |

Where is um, CARNAGE?
![]() I wanna see a t-shirt line. I wanna wear a t-shirt with Carnage on it and word Cut him, cut him in the face Carnage Spider-man can't handle Carnage, Carnage gonna go postal on his ass.Shoot. Carnage is a serial Killer? Damn. I thought he was just crazed. Then again, I only seen Carnage in the 90's cartoon, never read the comics or the new one he's in. Still Bad ass.

My guess is that it will be set in college since they said Gwen was a senior in the first Oscorp scene, and I think they are waiting to do Green Goblin in the 3rd movie.
I think they could add Chameleon to the story of his parents. They could also add the element of the mob as secondary enemies i.e. Hammerhead/Silvermane and Tombstone, but that would probably play too close The Dark Knight with the mob being the beginning sub-plot and Joker being the larger villain. Can't really think of who would be a good main villain though. Last edited by DreamCa$h; 07-15-2012 at 03:35 PM. |

I think the problem with a villain like Chameleon is that you can't really "see" him. Is more like a multiple version of the masks in the Mission: Impossible series.
The character could work best as a minor villain through the entirety of a movie, much like Scarecrow in Batman Begins. |

I don't know if someone said this here or not, but someone said Tom Hardy as Shocker. He would be perfect, but I doubt they would cast him considering him being in TDKR as well. I don't know, but he just seems to fit the part.

I'd actually like to see one villain kill another villain before he battles with Spider-Man.
I'll admit, I've always been fond of The Shocker. And I think with great writing he could hold his own movie, with some changes in his background and extra weaponry. Remember, I'm not one of those who think that you have to have an A-List villain to make a great comic book film. Here's what Shocker's gauntlet BLAST would look like if I had my way. At this point im down to see whatever villain they decide to use as long as they stay far away from Doc ock and Venom.

I'd actually be open for either Doc Ock or Venom being the main villain in continuing 'trilogies'.
The Amazing Spider-Man trilogy (Green Goblin) The Web of Spider-Man trilogy (Venom); I added 'the' because it sounds better to me The Spectacular Spider-Man trilogy (Doc Ock/Sinister Six) |
