Anybody wanna comment on their thoughts on the score?

I purchased mine from Best Buy today. I gotta say... even though I'm happy Hans Zimmer included themes and call backs to previous entries (BB, TDK), in my opinion it's a little overused in this score...

perhaps upon repeated listening I will change my mine, but for right now I'm content to say that with BB, TDK, and TDKR, TDK is the superior score for the trilogy. Perhaps seeing TDKR (which I will in 2 days) will also help me appreciate the score more (because I will see it played out in accordance with the movie).

Also, another thought: I think BB is actually the score that has the most "Batman superhero" type themes... which is ironic since it's the first movie in the series... the scores get less "superhero-y" as they go...

but that's just my opinion.

Thanks for the link man. As soon as I clicked on the link, the page said I couldn't access the content from my location. I hope myself and my fellow canadians aren't getting the shaft.

Mine ain't got one either. I'm trying to track down the contact info for Watertower music but they don't seem to have much on their website to do so.

Same! Gotham's Reckoning is so good that I have no problem waiting.

I just got mine today in the mail and it's gorgeous piece of a soundtrack! I like how they gave us the "Chalk Batman Emblem" sticker in it along with the info to download eclusive music and access bonus content but I went to the watertower website and it just looks the same... I mean what the hell, I have the CD in the computer so how come it's not unlocking it? >.>

I love the hell out of the music. I am so glad he brought back the "Back Up" track from Begins when he escapes Arkham before the Batmobile chase. I loved it and couldn't believe it was only used once in the two films (besides Begins' credits).

The only thing the score needs is more of Bane's theme, which is at the beginning of Gotham's Reckoning and about midway in "Imagine The Fire." It can be heard in a couple tracks but I just know there is more. The Nokia/MTV trailer has one, the Journey trailer as a soft version. I love it.

Hey SuperHeroHype guys!

OK, first of all, if you have already heard my name on youtube (heavenbaby06) then you might have come across my 3 recreations for the prologue/trailer 3/MTV scores. Now i promise you this will be the last time i will bother you with "TDKR" music, but i wanted to make one additional track (before the release of the film)
for you film music lovers & Batman fans.

This, here, is my own vision of how i see the ending, which is more of an homage to Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard for their work on Nolan's Batman.

No big percussions this time, this one is more the intimate & uplifting one...

I really hope that you will appreciate this, if not everything, i would hope there is a little something for each one of you here & there within these 10 minutes...
I also added a little musical bonus at the end of the track!

Video + Download link:

Thanks for listening guys!

I agree.

Also, I believe it to be (out of all three) the most evocative of imagery in your mind while you listen, and I haven't even seen the film yet which speaks volumes for its ambiance. Its tone is somber, cold, militaristic, and grief-ridden. And then in the end, victorious and surprisingly optimistic!!!

The music that's in the Nokia trailer is not the Gotham's Reckoning that's on the CD.

dam i wish someone would be able to extend Why Do We Fall... at the part where the rise stops because I feel like it still has to got a bit higher before the last 30 seconds, they cut it off too soon.

Are you referring to when the track goes quiet for a moment and then restarts? There's a reason for that in the film.

yea well movie wise thats cool but i still want an extended version where the rising continues. I feel like it still needs 1 more 2 more octaves to go.

Right now my favorite is TDK then BB, and finally TDKR. But the bonus tracks on TDKR really make up for the overuse of the recycled motifs and themes from the first two films soundtracks.

It's also weird, because I've never listened to a movie score like this before seeing the film first. I'm not counting samples either. But TDKR has some extremely powerful tracks on it. So I'm really excited to hear it within the context of the film, and also listening to the soundtrack a few more times all the way through, whenever my CD arrives.

After listening to the score for over a week I now firmly place it at the bottom of the trilogy and Hans/Nolan collaborations, with BB in first place and TDK in second. It's kind of astonishing how much better Inception's score is compared to Batman though; by far the best Hans/Nolan work. What a fanboy I was hoping that this would come close or even match it.

I wish Hans had brought back the cue that plays after Rachel gives Bruce the note in Batman Begins and he goes down to the BatCave.
