Nice... that sounds like the best way to go with something like this.

It definitely felt like a Nolan approach to me.

Very grounded and real-world.

The Kansas scenes almost reminded me of "Unbreakable."

There's definitely a dark vibe about this film, perhaps because it focuses on Superman 'the alien.' It is needed though.

That shot with the skulls was awesome.

Oh god please no.

But I do like that there's a sense of mystery that they seem to be building.

i guess i got a different view of dark and gritty

Se7en,The Crow,Watchmen, girl with the dragon tattoo, etc. are dark and gritty

this film i get a JJ abrams Star Trek,x men first class, rise of the apes which is a serious dramatic tone

Star Trek was pretty lighthearted and comedic too, even the first trailer for it had kid Kirk stealing a sports car and going for a joy ride. Star Trek was more on par with Iron Man in tone.

This, to me, was more remiscent of "Batman Begins." It is obvious there's going to be some huge serious themes dealt with in this film and it's grounded in the real world. It really is what if Superman happened in the real world.

Clark was quite stoic and dark in this, at least more like Bruce in BB, than the classic Reeve Superman.

The only stuff that reminded me of Abrams was the action sequences in the teaser. I liked how they were fast-paced. I hope it's a sign ZS has changed his ways.

I definitely took note of this, too. I was really expecting the usual Snyder slo-mo to be featured fairly prominently in the teaser. Of course, I'm sure there will be a couple of moments featuring it in the actual film, which I'm perfectly ok with since that actually suits Superman, but it's nice to see a Snyder teaser that's not littered with it.

Yeah, it feels like a cross between BB and ST '09 to me. That is a great starting point for the tone. Hopefully the film delivers on the promise of what they've shown so far.

I just watched the footage, and I was very impressed by what I witnessed. You can absolutely feel Nolan's involvement in this film but Snyder is not to be ignored -- the visuals were outstanding. The footage radiates of Batman Begins clashing with Star Trek. Thank you Snyder, Goyer, and The Nolans for bringing Superman back to glory! Man of Steel is hands down my most anticipated CBM of 2013.

I am infatuated with the tone and style that DC's films are using. This is unquestionably the route that WB should take with their DCU and JLA adaptation. It helps differentiate DC's films from Marvel's films.

This film will deliver. Anything with Nolan's name on it is gold.

Chris basically did with Snyder what he did to Goyer, took someone very mediocre and focused their talents under his guidance.

I swear Chris could make McG's work look good.

I think that's what they wanted to do... before Nolan left.

Now it's going to be a tall order to replicate that tone and style for other DC films without Chris Nolan around.

Yes absolutely a Nolan vibe, is the best way to describe it, even if he didn't have a single hand in this film i would have still mentioned his name. Strong focus on the image and the beauty within in and a more grounded somber tone rather than a huge burst of colour and an operatic mood. It looks great so far.

Gives me chills. Great delivery with that signature Costner voice -- the guy can deliver epic lines.

A lot of this looks like what you'd expect from Snyder imagery (mostly thinking 300 and watchmen). The outdoor shots are what's different, but Snyder hasn't done much outdoor work at all. Some of the darker outdoor shots look very much Nolan-like. The first shot of Superman (the silhouette) and the hallway shot in handcuffs is very much Snyder-looking, it that makes sense.

I love the violence with which Superman flies. It feels powerful and epic.

Eh, I wouldn't call Snyder mediocre. The guy has talent and potential but his writing chops are not on par with Nolan's or Cuaron's or Aronofsky's. Zack deserves credit here alongside The Nolans and Goyer. Just a couple of days ago, posters were freaking out over the rumor that WB executives and Nolan were unhappy with MoS. Now, everybody is ecstatic over the footage and dialogue.

Afraid so. With Nolan gone, it positively leaves a gaping hole for the creativity behind DC's films. Who could possibly replace Nolan?

I dont know if there's better quality footage out there, but from what i saw....just WOW! Awesome stuff. I do think it's a cross between Batman Begins with some vibes from the Star Trek 09' trailers. Which is an incredible combo.

Definately my most anticipated movie of 2013, with "Only God Forgives" (new Gosling/Refn) just behind it for me. Feels great having another franchise that i can now invest in once Nolans Batman is finished.

It's like putting Nolan, Snyder, Malick and Abrams in a blender with Supermans origin.

OK just watched it!

My god that was epic! The part when Superman takes off is amazing. The cape looks so regal in that shot.
Shame we couldn't get a good shot of the ship but my god I can't wait for the official teaser release now!
