Interesting that he's not even doing Alice in Wonderland 2... Burton isn't big on sequels I guess.
Burton's Batman 3 would have been great. I would have loved to see Robin Williams as The Riddler!

Wish he could've convinced Johnny Depp to do the same...

Sad to say but I might be starting to lose respect for Depp. Seems like he just does cash-in after cash-in.

It's not the direction I thought his career would take, that's for sure. I still need to see the Rum Diaries though. Heard lots of good stuff about that one.

I agree, and am always happy to admit that I criticise the Nolan trilogy because it is at least worth criticising.

I can't believe Burton hasn't worked with Keaton in over 20 years. That's insane to me.
I remember seeing Keaton's name attached to either The Corpse Bride or... Frankenweenie maybe. It doesn't seem that their has been any bad blood between them, but yes it seems odd Keaton wouldn't have been in at least one of his movies since. Burton always had nothing but praise for Keaton.

Yeah, I never thought there was any bad blood, just seemed like a gross oversight on Burton's part not to cast him again. Hopefully that'll be rectified soon. Dark Shadows was the first time Burton's worked with Pfeiffer since BR, so Keaton is definitely due.

You know I'd like to see him work with Jack Nicholson again too... maybe Burton can pull him out of his semi-retirement.

Who knows what roles Miss Peregrine's Peculiars could offer.

the one thing that always bugged the crap out of me was how the HELL did Penguin get the blueprints to the Batmobile? I know he said that when people flush stuff he can get it, but I am pretty darn sure that Bruce keeps that stuff locked up nice and tight and would NEVER toss it away.

There were occasions when Catwoman was depicted as a blonde in the comics. Here's a panel from one of those times:

those are very interesting comparisons. Very interesting indeed! Are all these comics panels pre Batman Returns?

I was going to ask that: I cannot remember Selina ever being blonde before 'Returns. She usually had a mass of glossy, raven-black hair in the 80s'90s, before she got a crew-cut in "Year One".

The blonde Selina also looks freakishly like Pfeiffer. If that really predates BR then wow.

The article says it is from a Selina Kyle appearance in Wonder Woman #201, dated 1972...

That was a wig she was wearing as a disguise. Catwoman was her traditional brunette self in that story: http://dc.wikia.com/wiki/Wonder_Woman_Vol_1_201

Yep... she was only a blonde occasionally. If I'm not wrong, there were also a number of times in the Golden Age era that she was depicted as a blonde... can't remember exactly which issues.

It was a wig of course, but that panel looks eerily like Pfieffer.

The blonde comic panel sure inspired BTAS Catwoman, take the gold bead necklace and make it her belt instead, boom.

Can someone confirm something for me? I just read that Burton used the opening panel of Detective Comics #27 as part of the first scene of Batman 1989, and used the opening panel of Detective comics #28 as part of the first scene of Returns. Thus, if the pattern were to hold, he'd have used the opening panel of Det. Comics #29 for Batman III.
