I like the idea of it. But as Boosted said, it kind of shows the BW persona coming through a bit, which it shouldn't do at all!

And I feel the metallic belt to be far efficient for Batman. A simple leather belt, he would have to fiddle on for what he wanted out of it. The metallic belt, all he has to do is press a simple release button, the top pops open, and viola!

Wasn't the Daredevil cowl made of leather? That looked good. Weren't the Dead End and City of Scars cowls made of leather as well? Those looked fantastic.

Absolutely. I honestly don't know why every costume designer struggles when coming up with something like that. It took them 6 movies just to get them to have his head turn, and they were pleased with the results in TDK...it took others out there 1 movie to achieve that.

I'm not fussed on a Italian leather belts and stuff, but to have the cowl made from that would be ideal

If you took away the cape clasps and corrected the number of scallops on the bracer, I would love this:

Regarding Batman's costume, I'd like a combination of the following.

Numbered the pics for reference; pics have original watermark and artist signatures as well.

1. I know a lot of posters here hate the cowl, but it's the thing I love most about the concept of this costume, it's a great looking cowl I would love. I also love the way the cape is attached and the knee pads used.
Also not numbered, but I thought the Batman Begins/The Dark Knight belt is perfect.

2. With the Batman Earth One suit, I want the yellow bat-symbol again. If no yellow, then I like the grey and midnight blue/black combo here. I want the black bat-symbol to be prominent on top of the grey. I also would like the piping here from the torso and legs; the leg piping here is the only amount of piping I want, it's in the proper place for the legs to stretch, bend, and it has a proper codpiece without it looking like an overly huge bulge.

3. With Cap's costume, I want to use the same fabric for Batman's suit, excluding cape, except in Batman's colors in pic 2. I also would like the same type of boots.

4. On the Tron costume, I like the hexagon-pattern mesh underneath the armor to combine with the Cap America Avengers costume.

5. Snake Eye's arms are just like how I'd like Batman's to be like. I'd like to see the mesh material be the Tron hexagon-mesh instead. I also like the shoulder and bicep pads, and the gauntlets, all that needs to be added are the bat-fins.

6. I liked the material used on Nite-Owl's cape from Watchmen, and in the color of pic 2. One change I would make, would be to make the cape fully black, but have the underside to it be the midnight blue color.

Why don't they make the ENTIRE costume out of leather?

Say, Batman has the Nolan cowl for example...but covers it leather?

He has Nolan's armour for example, covers it in grey leather?

It would give the suit kind of a disturbing 'fleshy' look.

People ask for fabric to cover his armour, and we all get a unique movie material for each costume...so why not leather?

Honestly, as much as I like leather costumes, I would prefer mixed fabrics and save the leather for the cape, simply because I feel it would be more visually appealing.

I see what you mean.

It could possibly work though, as there are tons of different types of leathers. Each part of the costume could use those variations. So each would have their own distinct look.

But I fear the actor inside could actually die! lol

If none of the Batman from 89 to now haven't died from the suit, they'll be just fine.

Ah, but they weren't covered from head to toe in leather! The heat will kill them

I reckon something like that could work pretty well though, different variations of leather material used to make up different parts of the suit. Everything would look distinct in it's own right, whilst still being drawn from the same fabric.

I would like to see them bring in Nolan's cape again, but if anything but the cape is made out leather then the world is mad!

Surely the can say Bruce Wayne has created a leather 'like' cape, that can be used in the same affect as Nolan's?

That would look cool, do they really want to do the black bat ensignia on the black suit again though? I do love how sleek the whole thing looks.

It would be cool to see this with a silver bat ala justice lords. Sure it was evil batman, but its a reboot!

Would love to see Batman look like Batman for the first time. Sad that Spider-Man looks so close to the comic and Batman ends up looking like a black-clad version of Green Goblin from Spider-Man 1. The public has zero problem believing Spider-Man. If people believe Batman can stay alive for more than a week with that body armor that makes him unable to move, they can believe a costume closer to the comic.

  • Durable fabric-based materials exist.
  • Audiences embrace 'silly' looking costumes as long as the movie is good. See Spider-Man, The Avengers.
  • Posting pictures of Adam West proves the comic costume looks silly as much as posting pictures of George Clooney proves rubber armour looks silly.

Did I get them all?
Well said.

I disagree on this slightly, as the materials I would preferred to be used should be a spandex combination in the make of the material.

Agree to disagree. It all depends on the environment/surroundings.

Eh, I'll say half and half here. There are manips that show a non silly look, while there are a same amount that show how badly silly it can look.

Another half agreement here for me. I agree that molded rubber as large pieces are a no go, but I disagree at getting rid of them entirely.

Am I the only one who realizes the second suit by that person is completely different(and better) than the first?

-Larger symbol
-Larger belt
-Different shoulder design
-Smaller clasps.

Whatever happens, no more all black batsuit. Enough is enough. If The Avengers showed us anything, it's that an impressive, cinematic, yet more comic-accurate suit CAN be made.

Here's my beef though.

They've never gone with fabric before. And now that the comics costume is no longer fabric, it's more or less armour like the films, will WB EVER go with fabric?

WB will never, never get rid of the movie armor look entirely; it has always worked for them, there's no need or use for them to get rid of it entirely.
