did you see Looper though? way different from his roles in the Nolan films.. he's able to handle dramatics, comedy and is improving on his action abilities.. I don't think I ever saw Ruffalo or RDJ in their Marvel roles when they were announced until they proved me wrong..

Yes, I'm afraid so. He had a great year last year. A lot of good work in a lot of good films. He can happily have his own franchise now.

Assuming this is valid, I think JGL would make an excellent Star Lord. I'm just going to wait for the official announcement though. Nothing as tedious as these casting rumors.

hopefully if JGL is cast as Quill it leads to Emily Blunt taking the Gamora role.. Looper re-team!

He already played one in Over the Hedge, so he's got it on his resume.
While I think the dynamic would probably lend itself to some wackier comedy if someone like Levi took the role, this would definitely work.

I don't believe this to be true for a second, but putting my aluminium-foil hat on for a second...
What if Marvel floated the 'fake' Sturgess/Levi rumors on purpose just because it would make the decision to go with JGL look that much better in contrast. Nah, too far fetched... but have at it, conspiracy theorists.

He needs to bulk up, more muscles in order to convince me that he can be a leading man, action star type. |

Star-Lord isn't supposed to look like that, though. He's an attractive dude, but not like superhero material right off the bat.

![]() There are a *ton* of hats in the Star-Lord ring right now, ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous. If you guys want to completely discount all the many, many other names that have been called and just turn this into a Chuck vs. John Blake pissing contest, be my guest; but there's very strong odds that it's *not* down to just those two as finalists.

Out of all the names brought up so far, there are some better than others, but none of them would be horrible at all.

don't forget that Tom Hiddleston read for Thor but was cast as Loki..same with Sebastian Stan who was considered for Cap but ended up playing Bucky/Winter Soldier instead.. expect a bunch of these actors who are testing to be considered for supporting roles as well..

what about Patton Oswalt for Rocket Raccoon? dude is beyond funny and loves comics..hell he even endured the production of Blade Trinity someone owes him a good Marvel role.. has already voiced a critter in Ratatouille..also if you've seen Big Fan he has a bit of a darkside to him as well..

He could bulk up more if wanted to but I wouldn't say isn't leading man material as he is now. Garrett Hedlund isn't much bigger than JGL amd his rumored to be considered as well. ![]() Star Lord's costume in the comics isn't one of those designed to show off their physique
