Agreed, Nichols is terribad

As are other commonly suggested "actresses" like Olga Kurylenko and Gina Carano

It all basically comes from the same "[he/she] is hot and toned and it's not exactly Shakespeare" school of thought

I actually think the well is much deeper for a character like Gamora is than that for characters like Captain America, Thor, Drax...those are the hardest to cast. Big muscular guys that can act.

There seem to be several attractive 5'7"+ actresses with screen presence. The idea that we'd have to use a Rachel Nichols is kind of silly.

no she is'nt olga is quite solid actress and was praised by many critics for her performance in Terrence mallick's upcoming to the wonder

direct quote from playlist review
Quote:
Former Bond girl Kurylenko, meanwhile, is a revelation, and itís arguably Marinaís film more than anyone elseís, with "To The Wonder" starting and ending on her. The actress is luminous in the part, though, a somewhat silly, often child-like woman unable to get her lover to meet her halfway (she reminded us of Nora from Ibsen's "A Doll's House", curiously), and her heartbreaking turn should open a lot of doors for her

I'd like Olga Kurylenko or Berenice Marlohe in the role. If either of those were cast, and Momoa is definitely Drax, and if they made Gamora Drax's daughter instead of Moondragon, then they'd both have a similar exotic, slightly oriental look.

The only thing is both Olga and Berenice are the same age as Momoa. Not that it really matters under green skin.

Olga is a good actress dont know why people say otherwise to be honest. And she can play a bad-ass, just watch Centurion were she plays a mute hunter/killer. Not for one second in that movie do you doubt she could kill Roman soldiers with ease.

So I guess we won't get any casting news on this until late-March and probably no confirmation from sites like THR and Deadline until mid-late April if the gap between Star-Lord and Drax is any indication.

Well the Drax situation took a bit longer than it normally would have due to negotiation complications.

True...I wonder if negotiations didn't break down with Momoa how long ago we would have gotten casting news?

I bet we get Gamora pretty soon. They have most likely been testing actresses while at the same time going through the process for Drax.

You heard it here first folks, Serinda Swan will be Gamora.

Now I'm expecting big name for Rocket, and Thanos. Maybe a notable actor for a cardinal? Still hope the Universal Church of Truth plays a part.

Ron Perlman maybe...they'd have to make him about 6 or 7 inches taller though.

According to the Marvel Cinematic Universe Facebook page, my choice of Adiranne Palicki is the favorite and is negotiating to play the role of Gamora. I don't know how credible they are considering I haven't heard any scoops come from them, but I'm obviously hoping it's true.

EDIT: Oh wow, I didn't even realize I was late on this, it was literally posted a page back.

I've heard the MCU page is BS. But, even though I don't know anything about her acting career or skills, I just looked her up on google and at the very least she definitely looks the part. 5'11'', looks beautiful but stern at the same time.

The MCU page on FB is just a fan page that reposts news from other sites. One of the admins claims to have "an inside source".

Yes I know this, except for that last part. I'm guessing the admin who claims to have an inside source is the one who posted the "scoop." Andrew is it?

I guess the rule up til now has always been "No wrestlers or supermodels".

Now we have a wrestler as Drax. I hope Marvel doesn't start casting like alot of the fans cast.

I've no idea who's gonna get the Gamora gig now.

If you use the "Cast Batista as Drax because he's got muscles" theory, can I cast Vanessa Hudgens as Gamora just because she's hot?

Or maybe they didn't cast Bautista just because he has muscles.

I don't think so to be honest. Obviously Drax has muscles and so does Bautista.

It's not like he's Mickey Rourke

I would totally cast Olivia Wilde, but MY LORD, she needs a new agent or she's curse. She kinda has a slight stigma about her... I mean, is she rooming with the cursed Summer Glau?
