So, she is on to this, the avatar sequels, most likely a third abrams star trek outing, and has publicly stated she wants to be in star wars...god i love this woman.

I would trust Zoe Saldana to do a good job with the one female part in the movie. Girl has got to represent!

How accurate is this? There were a million different rumours about Peter Quill.

The Quill rumors were all shortlist-type stuff. The only person who the trades reported as actually ever being in negotiations for the part was Pratt

Tony Stark should hit on Gamora.

Her skinniness wont be a problem, like i said before. All they have to do is create the air or deadly, unstoppable warrior, around her. Look at Sarah Michelle Gellar in Buffy, short and skinny but as Buffy she was strong and fast and agile and a great fighter, made her seem like this awesome warrior. Its all about the fight scenes, acting, and scripting her as the deadliest woman in the galaxy rather than having her look like it.

Personally I would have rather seen Rosario Dawson as Gamora, but don't know if she was ever actually up for the part. And I just like her, and can see her in lots of different parts. Like Catwoman or Wasp.

So if she isn't related to him by blood, do you think they will get into her origin? Sounds complicated. Like how Thor 1 told the origin of Loki. And GOTG will most likely be about Quill (the way the comics make it seem), so will they have time to go into it? Should she be different color to separate her from Hulk, She-Hulk, and most importantly Drax? So that if they don't get a chance to explain in detail about her the audience will know that she is not related to Drax or Hulk? (I am sure they will at least give a short explanation, her explaining how he wiped out her planet and took her and trained her or something. But They could still make her a different color.)
Is her skin color (green) vital like that? Just curious.

I'm sure her skin could be green with some alien markings, so that's it's not a plain green like Hulk or She-Hulk. Could be like how Mystique in the X-Men movies isn't just a plain blue, but scaley blue. I don't want scales on Gamora though. Maybe some kind of tattoos or perhaps some spots like Jadzia Dax in Star Trek DS9.

I also was hoping for Rosario, but Zoe Saldana might be a slightly bigger name at the moment. Theyre both compelling to watch and are solid actresses. Distinctive features. Beautiful.

Ms. Saldana is going to look amazing in the makeup, i can tell you that.

I like Zoe Saldana alot, and I don't really care if she's on other sci-fi franchises or that she is too skinny. I do wish that the actress for Gamora would be taller, though, and Saldana is rather short and petite. I want an Amazonian look for Gamora and she can intimidate anyone she comes across. Saldana, on the other hand, may not have that intimidation factor. But if she is cast, though, I'm not gonna complain about it too much because I do like her alot.

It's hard to pull off sultry AND intimidating. Saldana can pull off the sexy, stabby version of Gamora. Drax has the intimidation covered.

Zoe Saldana isn't short. She's only an inch or two shorter than Jaime Alexander. I wouldn't say she's petite either, she's thin.

Yeah, Saldana brings a lot of marquee to the game; FAR more than any of the other cast members named so far. She's got chops in acting *and* action, as well as "geek cred." She's an excellent choice by Marvel, if they finalize the deal.

And lolmfaowtfbbq at this notion that actors have to be shackled to just one or two roles. "ZOMG Schwarzenegger can't be the T800, because he's Conan! Keanu can't be Neo, because he's already Ted! SLJ can't be Nick Fury, since he's already Mace Windu! No, wait --- he can't be Mace Windu, because he's already Jules Winnfield! ack, I'm so confused...how ever will I be able to tell them apart....?"

From what I can tell most people are mainly complaining about how she looks, don't they know that a deadly assassin can be big or small? Hell, if anything, being slim and slender could be an advantage.

I'm very excited for this casting news if indeed it turns out to be 100% true, but one thing just keeps bothering me here...Why do people keep saying that Zoe Saldana is black when she's really Latina? Zoe Saldana's parents are from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, which makes her Latina. Being half DR & PR myself I just felt the need to correct this bit of information.

Yes, but there are black hispanics. Zoe Saldana considers herself a black woman.

Also Saldana is playing what is clearly a black character in Star Trek.
