Ive noticed that in most covers since Second Genesis, Cyclops doesnt use to appear

Does he leaves the x-men during some time or what?

I didn't read many recent X-Men comics but i heard the X-Men were divided between Cyclops team and WOlverine's team

no, I was talking about 60's comics, or 70's, when Storm, Wolverine, Collosus and the rest of second genesis got introduced.

most of the covers since that comic had these x-men more Cyclops, in a few of them

I think the panels with Sebastian Shaw were from Uncanny X-Men 210, the other pannel with the Hellfire Club was probably from a Marvel magazine

Sincerelly, the Stan Lee/ Jack Kirby years of X-Men were some of my least favourite, the writers that came after did a better job with the characters and ideas.

Either Way now that the characters are gone of the way lets go to the comics that inspired the movies.

The first film wasn't actually based on any single comic book, it's kind of a mesh of ideas to start the franchise with but it certainly had some inspiration from the 90s X-Men cartoon:



Bryan Singer himself saw the show before making the movie and this was one of the reasons why he began to like the X-Men and decided to make the movie.
