With the footage showing him putting on glasses, it's pretty much a moot point now, right?
Maybe it should be closed.

Personally I have never been a big fan of the Superman films but I am increasingly finding myself get more and more excited about the prospect of Man of Steel. Trailer doesn't show to much but still looks awesome.

Does anyone else think it would be nice to have some kind of a nod/homage to Christopher Reeve in MoS?
If so, how do you think it could/should be done?

Nope leave the old films in the past. Superman Returns and Smallville have referenced the past already and sometimes very well, no need to retread. This is a new Superman for a new era.

^Agree.
As much as I have a soft spot for Reeves and the Donnerverse for nostalgic reasons, I feel like this should be a fresh start with no tip of the hat to anything but the mythos itself. |

I think Deathlok meant Christopher Reeve the actor and not his Superman. In that case I wouldnt mind at all. A small nod of some kind.

I think that Singer's flick was one entire nod to Reeve. The comics have had nods to reeve for a couple decades, whether via inside jokes or homages or whatever.

Obviously this is a new take on the Superman mythos for a new generation. But I think Christopher Reeve was such a positive influence durung his tenure, that I for one, would like to some sort of nod/homage. But done in a respectful and subtle way. But I haven't thought of one yet...

I remember reading about how Singer had supposedly planned way back when CR was still alive to potentially have him cameo in SR, playing with the idea of having him shown at the moment watching the television screen when Superman made his return in the baseball season; there were even talks of using CGI to give him a movable body.

I agree. The Donnerverse is awesome, and Chris Reeve is an inspirational figure.
But it's time to move Superman on from their shadow, or even any reference to them.

Originally, Snyder flat-out denied that Zod would be the villain. And even more recently, he was wishy-washy about confirming this obvious "fact." Perhaps it’s because there’s a twist in store - and that “Zod” will turn out to be some other character like Brainiac or Doomsday.
Just a thought.

They took a pretty big risk going back to Zod, Luckily they got a very interesting villainous mainiack looking guy to do it.
Lets hope his Zod is memorable, and perhaps great but still I really want to see Superman Battle some one /thing different. I would love to see SNyders take on Brainiack, telekinetic, energy shooting biomechanical beastman comes to mind.

they didn't take no risk.this gonna be a different version of zod and not the zod from superman 2. he fit the story that they are doing.if it was the same zod from superman 2 with that ugly suit, one dimensional and cheesy then yea they would be taking a risk .

I think it is Zod. There isn't going to be much of a twist here.

As long as it's not another real estate scam, I'm fine with whatever villian plot we get...
