I mean, for all of the negative stuff that the previous films (before Nolan's ones) had within them, especially the latter two, I felt like Batman looked more mobile in those suits when he was fighting, despite the fact that those suits were more restrictive in movements for the actors than the ones worn by Bale.

I would have actually liked to have seen a scene where when a thug tries to shoot Batman as he enters a room, Batman easily disarms the thug by throwing a Batarang at that individual.

To be honest, from what I've seen of Batman's method of fighting, he comes off more like a very good street fighter than an actual master of martial arts.

You bring up a good point. The opening fight scene in Forever is actually very well done and Batman comes off as someone who's able to walk into a room and beat six guys at the same time.

Yeah the first fight in Forever actually isn't that bad.

And he actually uses his gadgets to prevent the thugs from shooting at him during the fight. He didn't have to rely on incompetent thugs who just wait for their turn to be knocked out.

I still enjoyed the fight sequences featured in TDK trilogy but I hope the next Batman series has fight sequences on par with what we got in "Batman : Arkham City"

Hahaha! Yes I rewatched it again. I thought it was, because of the look the goon gives to the other side. My new explanation: Christian Bale fights seriously and strikes hard. The actor wanted to spare some pain

I'm surprised we haven't had a moment where a thug is so scared they've just run for it (except for Begins).

The main problem with the Forever fight is that it's so silly I can't take it seriously

We get a sequence like that in Forever. The neon gang leader shouts out 'Batman!" who is standing motionless at the top of a building, and they all scatter as he descends.

As for Batman fighting style in story, the approach is established early on:



Out of story, the Keysi fighting method is a "mixed martial arts" technique, I suppose it was choosen to show Bruce having his own fighting style. However, according to wikipedia, it wasn't used in Rises due to a change of fighting choreographer.
