It's not fair to dismiss Snyder's previous musical choices as being simple rock/punk. They were carefully picked songs that fit the themes of the film.

A Superman trailer that does the same would make more of an impression than an operatic score, which everyone is expecting.

I agree: I loved the first two Watchmen trailers, and the song "The End is the Beginning is the End" was the perfect song to capture the mood and feeling of the film and its story.

I too tend to prefer Snyder's trailers over Nolan's, even though I always end up disappointed in Snyder's movies and loving Nolan's. Hopefully with MoS I'll get the best of both worlds - love the trailer, love the movie even more.

Thats probably spot on, now they've come together we'll hopefully get the best of both worlds.

True. They used his Batman theme in the Batman Begins trailer for the first time. He sometimes composes his themes ahead of the full scoring sessions.

Cool didn't know that, so maybe we'll get the new Superman theme (if there is indeed a theme) with the new trailer.

Take it with a pitch of salt, as it is only a rumor, but...potentially new information about that trailer was revealed froma guy who claimed to have seen it, though his memory is hazy because he saw it once. This is what he says what's in it:

Trailer starts off with music very similar to Gladiator main theme.

Bearded Clark is underwater with fire above him (I think it's the aftermath of the oil rig rescue scene).

Voice overs:
CLARK (BOY): "The worlds too big, Mom."
MA KENT: 'Then make it smaller.'

We see a shot of Martha Kent - Diana Lane looks old and not as hot (not complaining - she looks like Ma Kent).

See a shot of boy Clark running and then sitting in a room with his hands over his head, crying.

MA KENT: 'Listen to my voice. Imagine it's an island in the middle of a big ocean. Can you see it?"
BOY CLARK: 'I see it.'

Bearded Clark opens his eyes underwater.

We see a shot (Comic Con) of the bus falling into the water.

RANDOM MOTHER: 'My son was in the bus... he saw what Clark did.'

PA KENT: You are meant to keep that side of you a secret.

A few absolutely beautiful shots of Superman walking among the snow (you don't see his face which is a nice touch).

PA KENT (voice over): 'You just need to decide what kind of man you want to grow up to be. Whoever that man is...

Music starts to build... epicly... Superman is in a kneel position. In slow mo the ground begins to shake....

PA KENT (continued): '...he's going to change the world."

Superman takes off (DBZ style) and the music goes EPIC - very operatic and just epic. Superman zooms into space and flies across the Earth.

Perry White running from collapsing building.

Faora standing back towards camera looking at flames.

Zod's space ship heading towards Kent farm.

Ma Kent and Superman hugging.

Superman holding Lois's hand surrounded by the military.

CLARK: 'My father believed if the world found out who I really was, they'd reject me. He was convinced that the world wasn't ready. What do you think?'

Final shot is Superman emerging from rubble with the military stepping in (same as CC)

Let's see if this has any truth to it at all. To be frank it doesnt read as exiting as I'd imagined, but that description is kinda vague.

Oops. I meant to type 2:20. All I know is this week is going to be THE longest week I will have experienced in a LONG time.

I have a question for anyone that can answer. How would someone, other than the people that made the movie and create the trailers, see the trailer before it's released to the general public? I mean, they don't put trailers before World Premiers do they?

Agreed. I'll still watch the bootleg if they decide to wait until Monday, but I'd prefer to watch the official HD version first. Isn't the Pacific Rim trailer being released online this week? Possibly even before The Hobbit, if I remember correctly. Maybe WB doesn't want both of their big trailers online at the same week. Not that I see a problem with that.

As for that trailer description... It basically sounds like the comic-con trailer. He adds very little stuff we don't know about and most of those can be assumed based on the set pics and other information we have available.

I guess we'll find out soon. Hopefully by Friday. Then there's always the potential Superbowl spot. I remember loving the Batman Begins one. Wasn't it the one where they first used the "Evil fears the knight" tagline?

That description has got to be fake... Snyder promises a "crazy" actionfilled trailer... doesn't seem like it from the description above. And it seems waaay too short. And I just dont believe that we wont see a single shot of Superman and Zod kicking each others ass. Besides, Snyder said that this trailer was all new footage, NOT what was seen at comic con. And the description above has a lot from that CC-trailer in it. don't believe it for one bit.

Pacific Rim trailer debuts Wednesday night, Oblivion trailer was leaked by an International partner so Universal put it up last night on Apple....so there's 2 down.

Looks like a new G.I Joe 2 trailer drops this week too as it was rated a week ago and Entertainment Tonight mentions it in one of their episode schedules this week but nothing for MoS.
