Official Man of Steel Trailer(s) Thread - Part 3

For someone with a hazy memory who only saw it once,they seen to remember the dialogue word for word,and all the scenes in order,and when the music builds etc,unless he took notes or used a dictaphone?,and if he had done that,he wouldn't say he had a hazy memory...I'm thinking too much,cold beer is needed.

I doubt that they'll release it online before the 14th as they will probably want to give Pacific Rim a bit of hype and room to breath. But I believe that the full Star Trek trailer and the After Earth trailer will debut online Monday or Tuesday. So it would be smart of WB to release the trailer online either on Friday or the next day, giving MOS a chance to hype over the weekend. Especially since there are going to be many bootlegs of it posted on YouTube and I doubt WB will want that to spread for too long.

And the description above has a lot from that CC-trailer in it. don't believe it for one bit.

That's the main reason I think it is fake that bad everytime we get a trailer for a big movie there's always a ton of fake trailer descriptions.

-Silence. No logo's. Just the blank theater screen.

-TIGHT on a T.V. in a storefront window at night- a newscast plays. An empty desk. Suddenly, abruptly, a newsman; 45 rushed and unkempt; trembling. Fumbles with microphone. Unsettling. Shaking. Desperately trying to sound confident, he begins:

“Ladies and gentleman. If you are watching this, and are NOT taking shelter underground, we strongly urge you -ALL of you-everywhere-to do so IMMEDIATELY. Anywhere you can find."

(beat)

"At this hour, not much is clear. What we do know is that there are visitors on this planet, and that there is conflict between them-sections of New York City have been destroyed; parts of Metropolis. There has been some sort of activity in the Sahara. A great deal of Seoul, Korea, no longer exists.”

-All this man wants to do is cry. But hes a pro. We realize NOW that we have slowly PUSHING in on the t.v. screen, so much so that we cannot see its edge any more. He continues:

-“Only weeks ago, this report would have seemed…ludicrous. Aliens…using Earth as a battleground.”

-He calms, but, with growing venom: “But…that was before Superman. (a pause-audience goes “Superman?!?”- he continues “It turns out our faith in his kind may have been…naïve. Premature. Perhaps, given the state of the world, simply desperate.” He pauses-voices off screen- the Music that had been building ERUPTS as the man freaks at what he hears-makes a move-RUMBLING-the desk is RIPPED upwards-and the screen goes static. The music comes to a SCREECHING halt.

-Surrounded by rubble in the middle of a Metropolis street at night, GENERAL ZOD-badass dressed in black, ozzing evil-glares past us. A motionless body, wounded, bloodied, lies in a crater opposite him. Rises. Pan up and around from his fit tp his iconic suit to the face, hurt, but determined, Cavils classic blue eyes blazing with determination: the is a Superman we've never seen on film, yet the kind we‘ve always imagined. He's bruised and bloodied, but ready for a fight.

-The music stops, as he growls: “Miss me?”

-The music erupts again, fast paced, epic

-Quick-as in ½ second shot each-shots of:

-Superman gliding over the arctic at night

-Shot of Jor El/Russel Crowe in Battle with General Zod

-Foara struts across the desert

-Downtown of Krpyton city, futuristic and immense

-Lois Lane looks skyward while on the a tower balcony at night

-Kevin Costner and Diane Lane look worried in Smallville

-A tidal wave smashes into an oil rig

-Laurence Fisbourne ducks for cover

-Superman soars past us blindly

-military helicopters spiral out of control

-A building explodes

-Clark Kent jumps into a phone both, rips open his shirt, to reveal

-the 'S' Logo

-Shot of Zos, almost enjoying himself:

-Black screen, as he hisses: “Are you ready?"

-Superman looks beaten, near death

Vadakin on eyesskyward pretty much summarizes my feelings with the Jonathen kent line in te quotes below

But Jonathan Kent? Yes, I get that he'd want to protect his son but the notion that he would suggest that Clark let people die is not only completely out of character, it's abhorrent. Jonathan Kent is the person who teaches Clark right from wrong and is a key player in shaping Clark's decision to go out and save people. Of course Jonathan would be terrified that in exposing his abilities, Clark would be in mortal danger but ultimately, if Clark has the power to save someone and chooses to do so, the last person who should be telling him not to is Jonathan.

If this trailer description is real, I worry that Jonathan's role is going to be to try to hold Clark back rather than encourage him to do what he feels is right.

But it's Jonathan Kent. The man who gives Clark his moral centre. As afraid of the consequences as Jonathan would be, he would never for one second suggest that Clark, in a situation where he could save lives, should walk away. Even if it meant he'd spend the rest of his life with sleepless nights, wondering when the government was going to come through the door to take his son away, he would be immensely proud of his son and back him all the way. In fact if Clark did walk away, that's when Jonathan would have something to say.

Trailers are often sent to the theaters separate from the movie they're attached to, so if a theater gets it early, the employees could watch it. The theater I work projection at won't be showing The Hobbit, but we get our trailers off of the same trailer "bundles" that those theaters do, and those often arrive on Wednesdays (trailers get changed out on Thursdays), so I'm hoping I might get a chance to see it early some time this week. But there's always the chance it won't be on one of our bundles at all, so I'm crossing my fingers that's not the case.
