A lot of times scenes that were deleted actually drag. So it turns out the film works better (moves more smoothly, keeps its focus, etc) without them.

I don't know whether this exchange got filmed (maybe somebody with a Blu Ray could say). It's part of a number of asides interspersed with Thor yelling for Heimdall to open the Bifrost. Here's another exchange from later in that scene (Full disclosure: I've posted it before; I like it):

FANDRAL Are all earth maidens as fair as you?
(Darcy enjoys the attention.)
DARCY No.

Maybe they felt like they had to hurry and get all the warriors back to Asgard to stop Loki before he did something else. In that case, they would want this scene to move faster.

I'm guessing these sorts of exchanges with Darcy are what they are referring to when they talk about an expanded role for her in T:TDW. I would enjoy that.

That was kind of the point, he might not have a perfect British accent, but British wasn't the goal, he was going for Asgardian. Which would be inherently different than a British accent.

I don't need Darcy's role to be expanded by any means. But if her expanded role is used to develop Fandral and Volstagg's characters like in those lines, or Hogun or Sif. I'm on board. They deserve a little more attention.

Yeah he is a bit over the top, but I still want to be able to look at him and say "yep that's Kurse alright".

I didn't mean he should look exactly like he does in the comics, but he definately should be recognizable.

I know this is a pretty old comment... but you realize this is the Malekith thread right? It's kinda disrespectful to dismiss someone wanting to see concept art of a character in his own thread. *sigh* I guess either they haven't started filming any of Malekith's scenes or they're trying to keep his and Kurse's MCU appearances a secret for as long as they can.

I'm just waiting for some sort of official, non-fan created image for a little photoshop image I have in mind right now.

I can't wait to see how Christopher Eccleston in costume will look next to Thor and co. So far Thor's and Loki's costumes really seem like the comics come to life, I hope that trend continues.
