The bigger problem with Heimdall and Sif being siblings in the movies is that they are clearly of different generations. Heimdall is a peer of Odin, while Sif is a peer of Thor.

Out of curiosity, what elements give you the sense that Heimdall and Odin are of the same generation? (I'm not opposed to the idea, btw.)

When I read your post, I realized I had assumed Heimdall was in Sif's and Thor's cohort. So I wonder if there is something I missed. Thx.

It's not unheard of to have very different ages in siblings. Jeremy Renner's youngest brother is 40 years younger than him.

Yes, Malekith would be happy to attack anyone...hope he doesn't hook up with Thanos soon...

Question, for those who are well versed with Malekith's character in the comics, is he known to be more sinister than Loki is? Or are they about the same in terms of characterization?

I hate to say it, but Malekith is a joke in the comics. Even though he's a Simonson creation, he's a very minor character in a very major story arc that featured Surtur as the main villain. In the comics, Malekith looks and acts like an 80s glam rocker, and even his "Dark Elves" are jaw-droppingly silly as hell --- they're sometimes portrayed as tiny little gnomes (complete with requisite pointy hats and beards) instead of what D&D and Skyrim players tend to think of when they hear the term "Dark Elf."

I agree, which is why I said I never really cared for Malekith and several posters jumped down by throat.

I mainly care about Malekith because Christopher Eccleston is playing him hehe. But the likes of Kurse, Surtur, and Loki are far more interesting.

I would think Eccleston could bring something to Malekith that would make him a more interesting formidable villain, Here's hoping anyway.
