I am still holding on to hope that Marvel will get the rights to FF sooner rather than later. I know they want it bad.

The most encouraging part of the discussion regarding the Daredevil movie rights is the rumor that Fox may be willing to let Marvel cofinance the reboot. An arrangement like this could work very well with the FF. An FF rebooted into the MCU would be a much more valuable property than a stand alone project, could play a major role in the Avengers sequel, and be a key franchise for Marvel's third phase. Fox would benefit by significantly reducing their risk and getting more time to do the reboot correctly. Marvel would have some control over their first family. It would be preferable for Fox to lose the rights altogether, but this wouldn't be a bad compromise.

both sony and fox would. However... Fox is more greedy. so i don't see that happening. Where as sony is more desperate.

Just curious as to why some people think one studio is more greedy than the other?

Because when one studio is less successful, they want more money to make up for it, as well as making it difficult for other parties(directors, writers, actors, etc.) to work on other projects if they choose so.

However as greedy as Fox is, stupid I don't believe them to be. To tie a failing franchise with a winning (blockbuster) franchise is WIN-WIN. They gotta do something or see Daredevil go back. And speaking of that, Imagine if Daredevil were to go back to Marvel cause of stupidity and Marvel and Sony made a deal to merge the MCU, Spider Man, Daredevil, Punisher etc on a street level....... That would be awesome in itself and stubborn Fox produces their FF solo Universe to Fail because its piggy backing on its own failure..

That's Fox for you though. The only franchise they've ever had a decent handle on has been the X-Men franchise, and even with that one it's been uneven. It's not a WIN-WIN for Marvel Studios to come up with a deal that has the copyright stay at Fox yet work with them in a joint movie. Why should they create a middle man when they're so close to just getting the title to themselves? That's what's stupid.

I meant Win-Win as far as the FF.. If they decided not to play ball then i was imagining what they could do with DD and associated characters

The co-financing thing is not something I believe.

I just don't see why Disney would be willing to co-finance a Daredevil movie for Fox even if it meant only being able to use certain characters.

Especially when come October, they'll just fully own Daredevil again.

I don't see that either but would they co-finance the FF reboot and in turn extend the rights of Daredevil past Oct???

Negotiations.. if they, Fox want to make the Daredevil movie everything should be up for discussion..

When has Disney ever co-financed anything though?

Disney releases and distributes Dreamworks movies but that's not the same thing.

And worst comes to worst, if Fox meets DD's deadline, Disney is just out that character, but they still have the entire Marvel comics universe to make millions off of. Fox just has Daredevil, Fantastic Four, and X-Men, and only one of those 3 has constant productions.

Make the deadline while still (just) talking to a possible director?? Has Joe signed on the dotted line yet? If he does, is he confident that he can go into production in a month if he does (which might be a reason he hasn't committed yet cause he doesn't know who he's committing to)??? You're so not serious ROTFLMAO!!!!

Lol, Fox making a couple bad superhero movies has absolutely nothing to do with whether they're a less financially successful studio overall.

But they are. With each movie, they lose more of their profits. Sure they make the budget back, but instead of being the high grossing movies they used to have, they're not making as much anymore. I'm not saying they're financially in the gutter.

And I'll believe you when you provide the 2011 EOY earnings reports for both Fox and Sony.

Who said anything about Sony?

And I'm referring to Fox's Box Office reception. You can look those up on your own.
