Joss should become executive producer on Avengers related solo films.I would love to see him executive produce and rewrite Captain America:The Winter Soldier. He proved In the Avengers he gets Cap.He should executive produce ant-Man.Perhapes encourage wright to get the movie made.If Marvel changes mind on Hulk sequel he should write and produce. While I had some issues with protrayal of banner and him having control of Hulk once the Hulk come out It was great.

I can see the VH1 behind the music special now.

"...in the later part of 2007 Kevin Feige realized his life had hit an all time low. Every where he went people looked at him with blank stares and no one knew who he was. Then he bred the spiders and everything changed."

Jt just occurred to me that the other day del Toro said that he and Marvel were waiting for a specific writer to become available to work on the Hulk live-action TV series.

Quote:
ďI had one meeting with Marvel after Avengers and we had a very, very good chat. We have a writer that we want to bring on board, a very, very concrete name. I canít reveal it, but we want to wait for that writer. Itís a writer who is otherwise engaged. So right now we are in a holding pattern until that writer becomes free. Then weíre going to do a new draft of the script.Ē

Could GdT have been referring to Whedon? To be honest, the only way I can see a Hulk show working is if the character is portrayed as he was in The Avengers. Whedon's involvement would help ensure that it followed that path.

Possibly....but would GDT refer to Joss as just a "writer?" It sounds like GDT is referring to someone who is *principally* a scriptor, not a filmmaker.

Just read the Hitfix update. Whedon becoming essentially the creative godfather of the entire MCU?! THIS IS EVERYTHING I WANTED. Time for the Dance of Joy.

This is such good news. My friend texted this to me today while I was at work.

It's great news because it sends a message that creative people really can go far in Hollywood. It's not all style over substance. In fact, developing your own voice is what brings Whedon and people like him the megabucks

See, my issue with the Hulk tv series becoming tied to the current film MCU canon is that, when he does show up in films, you can run the risk of people not knowing what's been going on with him because they didn't watch the tv show (either they didn't want to, they couldn't, etc...). References can become confusing/have no meaning.

Personally I would find that jarring that essentially the MCU would FORCE me to watch a tv show (that I might not like) just to know what a main Avengers character is up to. I'd rather have it be what other articles have rumored where it's about other SHIELD agents/scientists with MCU stuff (heroes, etc...) mentioned. That way it's a side story and (hopefully) if you don't watch it/don't catch every episode, you don't feel like you've missed something when the next film comes out.

Does that make sense? Again, just my opinion.

Essentially, they will be doing the same thing with the MCU Phase 2 movies...

But Whedon was able to make an Avengers movie easily accessible to anyone who hadn't seen the first five MCU movies. I'm sure there will be people lining up for Avengers 2 who won't have seen any of the Phase II movies either, and I would imagine that Whedon would make the sequel just as accessible to those who had only seen Avengers and no other MCU movies (or TV shows).

I agree with all of that... I think the Hulk show is donezo, and the new show will either be something SHIELD related or Heroes for Hire

Marvel is seriously in top form these days. Has there ever been a genre-specific movie studio that has had this much success right out of the gate? I can only think of Pixar . What a great time to be a comic book fan

I agree with all of that. I don't really want to see a Hulk show, as I think it will just be watered down from what we now expect of the Hulk. Heroes for Hire, on the other hand, seems like a perfect fit. It can exist in the MCU and even provide an opportunity for commentary on some of the big events that are happening while remaining more focused on smaller events. The problem with a SHIELD related show is that they are already too tightly integrated into epic world problems and would almost require the viewer to be caught up on the movie plotlines.

I would really rather them focus on a Ruffalo-starring Hulk movie for the future. Get GdT focused on another Marvel property maybe (hmmm... Strange perhaps? Or give him GOTG!) and allow Joss Whedon to work on whatever he wants to with the Marvel properties at hand.

I love this! Joss Whedon, MCU's creative overseer. I love that after all these decades of toiling in Hollywood, getting dissed by studios and television networks, he's getting so much respect and clout. It warms this Whedon fangirl's heart!

Okay... now Disney and Marvel should be negotiating with RDJ's agent for 2-3 additional Marvel films. I expect RDJ to have the leverage... like his usual $11M asking price plus a half percentage of the gross.

Having RDJ back as Tony Stark/Iron Man is paramount now. They have Whedon, plus all the other actors locked in (Renner, Ruffalo, Hemsworth, Evans, Johansson, et al) thanks to their numerous sequel options. But RDJ won't be under contract anymore after Iron Man 3 finishes production, so Disney needs to get that underway.

I love how this enables Whedon to influence all of the movies leading up to Avengers 2, do some script doctoring on them, and really direct the whole flow of Phase Two from the get-go. He was only able to do that on a limited basis with CA:TFA in Phase One. I just hope he doesn't burn out.

Im still holding out hope for aka jessica jones. Its a procedural (shes a p.i.), its a good way to intro luke cage and/or HfH, and you can test out various marvel b listers on a weekly basis. Plus you have the big names as backdrop.
